The first night there we had some delicious gelato and walked around the boardwalk near the Lagoon, mudflat, and port with all of the Great Barrier Reef/fishing boats which happened to be riiiight across the street from our hostel. Sunday, July 12, 2009. A Day at the Gold Coast. So today, I took the train from Brisbane to the Gold Coast (which is about an hour away). and ohhh my goodness! It was sooo gorgeous there! We stopped at Coolangatta beach and strolled around a bit to look at the shops. I bought 2 necklaces (of course I couldn't resist! And managed to talk down the price of one of them. Tuesday, February 3, 2009. Last Thursday and Friday a lot was going on. Thursday night, the kids at school had their winter music concert. holy cute! Seriously, I thought I was going to die watching those muffin faces sing and dance. There were definitely some that, if you asked them (or anyone in the audience), they were the only ones on that stage! Singing their hearts out, gettin' their groove on. It was HILARIOUS! He looked at me with the straightest face, "You ruined it." and walked away!

Sunday afternoon, after church, we were all ravenous, so we pulled out the left overs to find a wrinkled strange looking half-eaten brat. It made us all laugh, but Katie in particular took a liking to this brat. Needless to say, because it was Katie, we all had a good laugh. In other news, my husband has quite the green thumb! Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, yellow squash, green onion, and state fair, award winning size zucchini!
