I am naked. I am wet. I'm immersed over my head. To drown the incessant cacophony. Of the unwelcome chatter and senseless banter. Of the place where I live. Of the cogs in the machine of life. I dream for one creative thought. To slip through this onslaught. This ceaseless parade of inanity. Of non-stop home improvement and family expansion. Of non-stop babies screaming. Of screeching tires on wet bitumen. I sink a little deeper. My ears fill with my irregular heartbeat. Of the dulling sounds of life.

Their self's own validity. Pain, tears and self abuse:. The only elements preventing their utter dissolution. A pool of sorrow, self-loathing and tears. Is what they yearn for, what they truly desire. To wallow in pain. To immerse themselves in tragedy. Damaged, painting their lives with the tar of morbidity. A love without thorns.

Emptying my mind of clutter,. Of passwords, logins and procedures,. I ease my body down on to the mottled concrete. Its warmth scalds my skin. Then seeps into every cell. The sun glints sharply off the surface of the pale green river. Moving people from dreary A to dreary B. They would do well to lie here with me where it's warm and still. Where I watch birds. Weave and swoop through the sky. Bounced around by the blustery wind. Planes blast through clouds. Moving people from dreary A to glorious B.
