Flew from Palermo to Rome yesterday around noon after one final day of siteseeing in Sicily (saw the salt marshes in Trapani and had a nice lunch). The clouds finally abated and the sun came out so we had a great view for lunch. Slept well and a quick breakfast, then back to airport. Amanda's Trip to Sicily, April 2010. Monday, April 19, 2010. So we drove south to Piazza Armerina. A small city just north of the hill town of Caltagirone. For lunch that is one of the best known restaurants in Sicily - and we all very much regretted that - but that’s how it goes…and sadly they were then closed for a day and a half, so no chance to go back. Amanda's Trip to Sicily, April 2010. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Apologies for lack of posting. We've moved campgrounds twice and neither have had wifi access, so it's taken several days to get back on line. Not much time to post, so a quick roundup. Camped for 1 night in Castelmarre del Golfo. Not the best campground. From there we took a day trip by train to Palermo. Round trip train time was an excruciating 6 hours! Next morning moved further west to campground in beach community of San Vito de Capo.
