My little corner of the world: Japanese Feathers
http://ooopretties.blogspot.com/2013/10/japanese-feathers.html
My little corner of the world. 21 October, 2013. This is one of those "journey" pieces. I had a gift of money which to me, at the time, meant an indulgence of yarn. I wanted something special that I could wear to the opera with my vintage jewels. This in itself is a jewel. It is double knit with Shibui Silk Cloud. And Habu textiles 100% Bamboo. This was a really lovely pairing. You can see how each yarn has it's own shimmer to it. Combined they are just magic! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Demode: ...

My little corner of the world: June 2014
http://ooopretties.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
My little corner of the world. 14 June, 2014. A garden within a garden and a mysterious geisha. I love all things small, miniature, detailed, dainty. I have this "pet" garden where I grow some herbs. It is a decorative kitchen garden of sorts. This year after the purchase of my long desired miniature Japanese maple I wound up doing this little aside. Links to this post. My little corner of the world: February 2011
http://ooopretties.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
My little corner of the world. 14 February, 2011. A person who avoids work or effort. The other day I was at Treadle. And one of the ladies behind the counter was knitting a toddler sweater from a pattern she found at The Yarnery. Aside: these are my top two "happy places" so any story containing a reference to both must be significant! For a long time now I have been mulling over this theory that, for me, it is not. Sweater will be, with every confidence that there will be a next. Links to this post.

My little corner of the world: Almost half way there
http://ooopretties.blogspot.com/2012/06/almost-half-way-there.html
My little corner of the world. 18 June, 2012. Almost half way there. I feel like I am making good progress on this one. For some reason shawls are easy for me. I am really looking forward to getting this one done. I just want to see it when it is all blocked. I think I will have to take the plunge and get some blocking wires. From what I have read online this one requires some pretty serious stretching! I have made the largest size. I can't wait to see just how large that is! View my complete profile.

My little corner of the world: October 2010
http://ooopretties.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
My little corner of the world. 18 October, 2010. My husband picked this book up for me at the book store just before our baby was born. Based on the cover he assumed it would be something I would like. Of course he was right. Light reading is a life saver when you are exhausted and nursing every two hours. This book, "Sweater Quest". I am totally infatuated with this brand of yarn, because not only are the colors beautiful, but it is just so darn soft! Links to this post. Links to this post. Mode Histori...

My little corner of the world: March 2011
http://ooopretties.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
My little corner of the world. 13 March, 2011. Not much to report yet on this crazy scheme for the sweater. I have only done a few rows, and so far I think it will work, but it may take a bit before I can really see the overall effect. So I thought that I would do a little post about a new discovery I made when I started this project. I had a specific needle in mind, the addi turbo. Links to this post. 10 March, 2011.
