AMATEUR ASTRONOMERS OF CENTRAL IOWA. We are a club that services Marshall and Tama Counties and surrounding areas. We love to get out under the skies and share our knowledge and love of the stars, planets, galaxies and constellations will all ages. From May - October we provide monthly viewing sessions through the scopes as long as the skies are clear. During the colder winter months, we meet on the 2nd Friday of each month at the Fisher Community Center. Melbourne, IA 50162.

AMATEUR ASTRONOMERS OF CENTRAL IOWA. E March meeting will be on Friday, March 12th at 7 PM. Keith Harrod our Vice-President will be speaking on Jupiter. Here is a short paragraph on his presentation:. Jupiter is at opposition this year on March 8 a few days before the meeting. It will be 1 magnitude brighter than Sirius, the brightest star in the winter night sky at an apparent magnitude of about -2.5. If the seeing is average or better watching Jupiter and it's Galilean moons is fun.
