Diary of an Amateur Cook

Thursday, April 2, 2015. I've made these Lasagna roll-ups several times now. I find them easier than a regular lasagna. I love that you don't have to slice the finished lasagna; a nice serving size roll is just sitting waiting for you. And my picky kids love these too! The pepperoni is so much easier than browning sausage or ground beef. And if you are like me and have more energy in the morning, you can prep these ahead of time and just stick them in the oven an hour before dinner! 2 Tbs dried parsley.

Diary of an Amateur Cook: May 2014

http://www.amateurcookdiary.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 8, 2014. Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies. These are the most dense, fudgy brownies I have ever made. Topped with a marbling of cheesecake and brownie, each bite is the perfect mix of flavors. 1/2 Cup butter, chopped into pieces. 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped. 1 1/4 C sugar. 8 ounces cream cheese (full fat), at room temperature. Saturday, July 26, 2014. Cold Oil French Fries. I can't remember where I first saw this idea for making french fries. It looked so much easier than trying to maintain a constant oil temperature while doing small batches of spuds that my interest was piqued enough to give it a try. I didn't have to use an oil thermometer? It may seem counter-intuitive but I think potatoes fried this way even turn out less greasy than the conventional method! And they turn out delicious! Here is what it will look like.

Diary of an Amateur Cook: Egg-Free Sugar Cookies

http://www.amateurcookdiary.blogspot.com/2013/12/egg-free-sugar-cookies.html

Wednesday, December 18, 2013. I found this sugar cookie recipe and thought I would give it a try so my son with an egg allergy could eat them too. We had a lot of fun making these, sampling the dough, and then decorating the finished product. And of course eating them too! They were a very good flavor and texture. 3 1/4 C flour. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1 C butter, softened. 1 1/4 C sugar. December 18, 2013 at 5:31 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sunday, July 28, 2013. Crock Pot Breakfast Casserole. This has been my go to breakfast for dinner lately. It is easy to put together in the morning and then forget about until dinner time. Or if you want it for breakfast, put it together at night and wake up to a hot meal! Recipe and Photo Source. 1 lb of breakfast meat (ham, bacon, OR sausage), cooked. 1 small onion, diced. 1 small bell pepper, diced. 16 oz of frozen hash browns. 3/4 cup of cheese (we use cheddar). Saturday, July 27, 2013. Heat oil in a...

I would like to point out...: September 2012

http://iwouldliketopointout.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

I would like to point out. Thursday, September 13, 2012. Growing up I moved a lot. Four years after my family moved to Utah my dad retired from the Air Force and my parents stayed in place. I, however, went away to college two. Suffice it to say, I move a lot. So, without further ado, I will announce that I am adding one more state to my list. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://iwouldliketopointout.blogspot.com/2013/01/awkward-stage.html

I would like to point out. Wednesday, January 16, 2013. I'm still waiting for my awkward stage to end. Last night I went up to church to play human foosball with the teenagers. I managed to get beamed in the head with the ball. I also scored the winning goal. For the opposite team. January 16, 2013 at 12:09 PM. You make me laugh so hard. Love you! Soon to be the Two of Us. I'm one of those two, right? Saturday, December 22, 2012. So if a call is not from someone in the church, it is most likely a sweepstakes offer or the Republican party. We get phone service from the cable company. "Could I get a discount if we dropped the phone service" I asked. "No" said the salesman. He explained the phone is now considered a free feature. Soon to be the Two of Us. I'm one of those two, right? Sunday, June 2, 2013. Who Buys the Pants in Your Family? When Wookie was younger, she would go through my closet at the end of my Air Force work day and lay out an outfit for me to change into. It was something she liked doing and was useful for me. Even now she occasionally watches out for me. Last night she and I were getting smoothies at McDonalds and I noticed some teenage boys with tennis shoes, ankle length socks, and shorts. I love your posts!

Soon to be the Two of Us. I'm one of those two, right? Sunday, March 24, 2013. I started teaching Wookie to drive. We are using a car with a standard transmission and she's been doing pretty good. Sometimes a glimpse of her personality comes out:. She says as the car stalls. She had just stopped and was starting to go forward again. You didn't put it back in first gear" I explained. Why would I want to do that! That's my Wookie - question everything. March 25, 2013 at 5:38 AM. Oh my Watch out! Simple tem...

Soon to be the Two of Us. I'm one of those two, right? Monday, February 14, 2011. As you've probably heard by now, Jules worked this Valentines, so we had our Valentines date Saturday. It was quite the romantic evening. We spent five minutes on dinner at our favorite steak restaurant and the rest of the evening touring Ogden emergency rooms to sew Jules hand back together. Jules can tell you about the first stitch she took without pain killer. Links to this post. Tuesday, February 8, 2011. This summer ha...
