I feel so fortunate to have this experience with this group of people. The students have exceptional personalities and the teacher and Education Assistants are professional yet genuine and caring individuals. I have been thinking a lot about the students in the class that are non-verbal autistic. I can only try to imagine what their world is like through what I have learned so far and by observation. At what point does it become too much? Is it when a cold hand touches him? When it is raining? In a crowded room? What strategies has he learned to help tune out or tone down some of those senses?
