The following refers to reels with Instant Anti-Reverse. Links to pages describing strip-downs for home servicing can be found here. Reel will not re-engage after casting. NB -The release return spring has been beefed up, and a different part number has been assigned. The last time I ordered some I was quoted one part number for this spring, but the number written on the bag they came in was different. Best to check before ordering! Reel 'squeals' on casting. Lure Casting with Multipliers

LURE CASTING FOR PIKE. Many anglers are put off using multiplier reels (also known as baitcasters) for their lure fishing because of fear of over-runs and the mistaken belief that these reels are complicated pieces of machinery. Don't panic! Multipliers are easy to get to grips with. All you have to do is set them up correctly and practice a little. To find out why I like Ambassadeurs go to A Reel Recommendation.

I have put a few lhw schematics here. To help you find part numbers if you are uncertain of what you require. Star drag operates 'backwards' - turns clockwise to tighten - which is annoying when fishing. Handle nut has right hand thread. Did Abu simply put the gears from a RHW reel in a LHW body? Friday, May 08, 2015. Of mice and rats. Whitethroats were active in the hawthorn, singing and flitting about. A song thrush perched on high and sang it's little heart out. A swan drifted gracefully by and picked up one of my baits. I wound that one in and whacked it out to deeper water. The tench, which are what I'm trying to catch, are continuing to play hard to get.I've heard of one or two being caught, and more being lost, but they're keeping well away from me. Thursday, March 26, 2015. Moving with the times. Two rods fished open end feeders filled with crumb and pellet mix with maggots on the size 20 hooks - a single maggot on one, two on the other. These were cast out to a marked spot. The third rod had the in-line feeder, and a small piece of fake corn as bait. This was chucked as far as I could get it and left to its own devices.
