Tuesday, February 13, 2007. Caption grabs attention and is not a complete sentence. Cut lines are complete mini-stories. First sentence communicates the most important facts about what is happening in the photo. (5ws and H). The first sentence is present tense and uses active, strong verbs. Final Exam Wrap Up. 1 Finish your draft of your yearbook story, and save it as a Word Document. 2 Open your InDesign document, and ad a third page by selecting File Document Setup. And setting the number of pages to "3". 3 On page three, place your Yearbook Story. 4 In Indesign, go to File Adobe PDF Presets [Smallest File Size]. And save your layout as "fin layout xx". Wednesday, January 30, 2008. 1 Pick a current event to base your cartoon on. Read through today's newspaper, and post another current events quiz question like the one in the last class's post. Go to today's statesman and log in:. Go to http:/ eedition.statesman.com/. Decide on something that is going on in the world that YOU HAVE AN OPINION about. 2 Decide on a stance. Figure out exactly what your opion is about the current event. 3 Decide how to show it visually. Your cartoon must have AT LEAST three.

Thursday, November 30, 2006. Start laying out your editorial package. File Document Setup Number of pages. On page 2 - Drag a guide to 2.333. In the space above it, create an "opinions" header. Include - word "opinions" in huge type, and folio with date, name of paper and page number. Drag a box that is 2 or 4 columns wide (not 3). The depth should match your cartoon. Place your editorial, leaving room for a headline and the "editorial" tag. Scan your cartoon, open it in PhotoShop, edit it and place it.

For each one, note the date it was published, the page number, and copy the ENTIRE caption (words below the photo). Post these to your blog, but not until tomorrow (do it in a Word doc. for now) so nobody steals your findings. You get one point for each good find, and you may find up to two of each:.
