iDon'tGetIt - Speculations

Documenting an ongoing argument with words. May 4th, 2010 at 2:34 PM. Writers, editors, bloggers, etc.) the lack of a keyboard seems to be a real show-stopper of a defect, at least to me. If I can't input text at anywhere near 70 words per minute (my usual typing speed), then I just don't see the point. So explain it to me: If a laptop can do everything a tablet can (and do it better), and a smartphone is more portable, why on Earth does anyone buy them? 9 comments Leave a comment. Basil, the cat. - ceelee
http://ceelee.livejournal.com/211949.html
A smattering of ideas. Basil, the cat. Jan 22nd, 2012 at 7:10 AM. Our dear friend Basil died last night in the comfort of her home. She was a most unusual companion. she lived 22 years. I will get out the pictures albums from about when I think she came to live here and see how old she was. ETA She came to live with us in 1990. She and her brother, Sage, were from a neighbor's cat and you can still see cats of that family around in the area. Lots of cat cousins, you might say. 7 comments Leave a comment.

Orthogonal [296 words] - the other box. This is where the extra stuff goes. 02:45 am June 17th, 2005. Peter came home late as usual, got a beer and collapsed on his couch in front of the TV. But the painting on his living room wall called to him, and soon he shut off the TV, got out his painting supplies, and returned to the task. And then, one day, it was done. He tapped the wall - nothing. He sighed. Perhaps tomorrow, he though. It was late, but tonight was Friday. He went to bed. Nothing the next morn...

A Note And Status - the other box. This is where the extra stuff goes. 03:32 am June 28th, 2005. A Note And Status. Has been published on Escape Pod. I may or may not do any more writing exercises here (or rather, I probably will, but it's hard to say when) as I'm more or less planning to start working on a novel in the near future - no doubt short snippets of it will appear here when I do, along with everyone's favorite useless statistic: running word totals.
