Located on 永康街 (Yong Kang Street), there's a corner shop called 一品山西刀削 or 'Yi Pin Shanxi Knife Cut Noodles.' Saturday, May 18, 2013. Dat roast pork sandwiches (Taylor's Gourmet). With the nicest old couple running shit ever. And a couple of the best. I've eaten in my short cholesterol-laden life (which is actually serious praise considering how many burgers I put away thus far). but most of it is shitty. Probably one of my best pies of all time. The crust cooperated, the filling set up nicely, and the bottom crust was fully cooked! I don't know what my problem is, but I have great difficulty getting the bottom to brown. More on that later. My pie baking adventure began with a trip to Chef Central. Tuesday, July 09, 2013. I don't have a recipe for making the sauce; I just make it. In reality, it was much darker than the pictures taken with flash make it look, but I didn't do any color corrections, so it looks way too orange-y. That's the sauce, after simmering for somewhere between two and three hours in the dutch oven. In the end, it tasted really good.
