finding life in ambivalent places: american idol gives back...

http://www.ambivalentlacie.blogspot.com/2007/04/american-idol-gives-back.html

Finding life in ambivalent places. Finding life in ambivalent places. American idol gives back. It's been a long time since i've posted! In honor of finishing my papers, and finishing this term, i sat on the couch and watched the american idol special, american idol gives back. I haven't been following american idol this season, mostly because it conflicts with my favorite show. Yes, i cried. i love the proud smiles of those kids, excited to be on tv, on stage; they are beautiful. At 4/27/2007 11:11 AM.

Finding life in ambivalent places. Finding life in ambivalent places. Death and dying in our culture pt 1. Friday, February 09, 2007. And maybe a better question is, why? Tonight we ate mexican food and drank wine and sat outside on the back porch, talking about the day and remembering my grandpa. and it was good. My grandpa the visionary, my grandpa the philanthropist. Wednesday, February 07, 2007. Here are two articles about my grandpa's life - this is my heritage. Tuesday, February 06, 2007. She got a...

Finding life in ambivalent places. Finding life in ambivalent places. Listen to the music. Friday, January 26, 2007. Here's one of my favorite rosie thomas songs. i think i figured out how to link to music. yippee! Like my new look? More later. :) probably when the kiddos are asleep. Sunday, January 14, 2007. The idea of revelatory iconography (a fancy way of saying made in the image of God) is wonderful, and scary, and thrilling. and the idea that this revelation is found in a unique way in marriage...

psycho logist: wild roosters and waterfalls

http://elbowofreality.blogspot.com/2008/09/wild-roosters-and-waterfalls.html

Wild roosters and waterfalls. The rainiest place on earth is on the island as well- yeah i know it's kind of like visiting the world's largest rubberband ball or something, but it's still cool to know that a place on earth gets like 400 inches of rain a year. There are also a number of waterfalls on kaua'i. it's pretty mountainous and given the amount of rain in the mountains you're bound to get a waterfall or two. waterfalls are cool. i like looking at them. ebullience. It's clearly been a long while since i have posted here, and while there are many reasons as to why that's the case, i probably will not address that so much here. why you ask? I will write a bit more in this space, but in order to protect my own interests, the post will probably be lacking in the details that some of you may wish to know- that's something that you're just going to have to deal with. I just finished reading the tao of pooh. Which is a book about taoism from the perspective of the characters in the winnie-the-pooh books by a.a. milne. i found it pretty interesting, which surprised me, and as a result i have picked up a copy of the tao te ching. To read a bit further. i'm glad that i read the tao of pooh. As well as a very therapeutic perspective from which to relate to each other and the world. Jesus doesnt want me for a sunbeam. Almost non-stop lately. i'm not particularly intere...

Vacation, all i ever wanted. I guess that pretty much sums up my MHGS. Experience: i am learning who i am. not that i was completely clueless before, but i have a better understanding of what is and what isn't true about me. i used to believe mostly the false things. but the truth is being revealed and i like it, even though it's not always easy. Faith hope. love. Semester of my grad school journey is coming to a close. i will post more on what i have learned and my thoughts later. Man what a good month!

http://elbowofreality.blogspot.com/2008/01/back-to-school-back-to-cool.html

Back to school, back to cool. Tomorrow is the first day of school for the spring semester here at mhgs. i'm always surprised at the sense of anticipation over starting school again after a break. it's like when you're a kid and you go and have all new classes and classmates and bring your new pens and pencils and what not. not much changes in grad school. well, at least not for me. I would like to know those rankings after 1 class of each. Not enough data yet, but i stand by my original numbers. Mars hil...

"Life's under no obligation to give us what we expect.” | Motherhood after infertility

Life's under no obligation to give us what we expect. July 27, 2015. The hope never goes away. We aren’t trying for another baby right now. However, we aren’t using protection and aren’t doing any type of family planning since I wasn’t ovulating without serious meds and trigger shots before. We also only had sex ONCE around when I could have. Ovulated this month but that is only if this was a regular cycle. It’s only been 11 months…. July 16, 2015. So, when are you going to have another? I get asked this...

A twenty-something learning to navigate post-grad life. One Year Ago… Reflecting on Life with Depression. August 18, 2015. August 18, 2015. This is going to be a long post folks, so get comfortable. When I began this blog, I wasn’t sure of how personal and open I would be. Writing this is taking so much thought and energy, but I truly feel that it is worth telling this story. My hope is that by sharing this, I can continue to heal and help others. The Five Lessons You Learn From Yoga. June 25, 2015.

Musings on how to run Britain. Hopefully constructive. Sometimes meandering. CharlieHebdo: why religion can’t be a sacred cow. I write this with trepidation and I worry about giving offence: but as a secularist and leftist, I wanted to give my own perspective on the atrocities committed against. Like almost everyone else, my starting point is horror that so many people have been killed either for their cartoons or for guarding the people who drew them. Nothing can justify that. I had a great time last year, in fact. In order to get where I'm coming from, I need to give a little backstory. But I ...
