Ambles & Rambles: May 2014

http://amblesandrambles.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Walking and hiking in the UK and abroad. Sunday, 11 May 2014. Norfolk Coast Path - Day 4. Sheringham to Cromer - 6.50 miles. And so to our final morning, and the last few miles into Cromer. We rose early again, breakfasted, packed up our stuff and drove to Sheringham, where a trundle down the high street brought us to the sea front to rejoin the NCP. Sea front, Sheringham. Looking back over Sheringham from Beeston Bump. A series of quiet tracks led gently upwards towards the ridgeline. Gradually the ...

Ambles & Rambles: January 2014

http://amblesandrambles.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Walking and hiking in the UK and abroad. Friday, 3 January 2014. Something Of A Curates Egg. But, by the time we'd reached Sedbergh on New Year's Eve afternoon, we'd done the necessary, and pased the 800 mile mark by a whisker. Mission accomplished. For warmth, and by way of celebration, we squelched, dripping, into Duo cafe, sank a huge pot of tea, shared the last piece of (appropriately named) orange drizzle. Weir between Linton and Grassington. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Ambles & Rambles: Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

http://amblesandrambles.blogspot.com/2014/10/pembrokeshire-coastal-path.html

Walking and hiking in the UK and abroad. Friday, 10 October 2014. Once the summer is over and the August Bank Holiday has passed, the opportunity for a long weekend relies on taking time off work. With just one day’s leave remaining until after Christmas, it was important to ensure it was carefully considered and used wisely. So would the risk pay off, and would the long haul out to the west coast of Wales in October be worth the effort? Day 1: Solva to Nolton Haven – 8 miles. Views along the coast.

Ambles & Rambles: Scratchings & Squeakings From An Ill-lit Corner

http://amblesandrambles.blogspot.com/2014/12/small-scratchings-squeakings-from.html

Walking and hiking in the UK and abroad. Monday, 15 December 2014. Scratchings and Squeakings From An Ill-lit Corner. It’s now mid-December 2014, some two months since my last scribblings (a half-baked rant about energy and wind farms) and even longer since a proper report about walking-related matters has appeared – a short commentary on a long weekend walking bits of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Stormy skies above Grasswood from the Dales Way near Grassington. Watching the Wharfe go by. Not appear t...
