From the front porch. A gathering place for my thoughts, ideas, and recollections. He’s half a year old…and we have a front porch! October 4, 2010 in Uncategorized. How time flies when you are renovating a charming 100 year old home and watching your baby grow up before your eyes! On September 1st, Faris and I closed on a home built in 1907–our first house! But I digress. Onto the more important news at hand: Henry is 6 months old! 6 Months old and very tired for the pic. Starring the Big Sitter! Haha He...

Wednesday, April 18, 2012. The picture of the group of kiddos is Dan's pre-school class. It's not really that great of a pic, but it was taken at a music festival that they performed in. They won first prize for the song that they did as cowboys and I loved seeing Dan up there.it was so cute to see his class perform. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Barnards: January 2012
http://thebarnardfam.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 13, 2012. We had a lovely Christmas and Christmas season this year. We all had lots of fun decorating the tree, making gingerbread houses, ornaments, cards and lots of Christmas cookies! One night we went with friends into Inverness to a local park. There, we saw reindeer and beautiful Christmas lights. Dan had fun with his freind Doug, and after a snowball fight on the walk back to the car we were all ready for a warm meal :). All the adults had a good laugh too. View my complete profile.

Friday, July 22, 2011. Wednesday, July 20, 2011. All in a Day's Pickin'. We LOVE summers here in Scotland, and one of the reasons is the amazing fruit! Once again we seem to be the crazy Americans who care to pick them, but we can't help it! We plan to keep picking! Well, I must say that I now know what ' hayfever' really is; however, there are huge perks to living amongst the hay as well. Saturday, July 9, 2011. We again went swimming almost every day, ate fabulous food, spent a day in New Orleans, and ...

The Barnards: October 2011
http://thebarnardfam.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 13, 2011. Well, it seems as though my mom took more pictures of the boys and myself than me taking them of her, but I promise she was here! Monday, October 10, 2011. I'm a bit late in putting up pictures, but my mom was here at the end of August/early September. We had a great time and her visit was full of picking blackberries, visits around Kiltarlity, a Loch Ness Cruise and much more! I have a few more pictures after this, but here is enough to give you an idea of what we did.

The Barnards: August 2011
http://thebarnardfam.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Some of you may remember that I use to love to make cookie bouquets. Well, it has taken me a while to find all of the supplies needed to make them here, but I've finally done it! Some friends just had a baby and this is the bouquet made for their sweet Amy. It's fun to pick up baking and decorating them again. It's also fun because people here have never seen or heard of them before :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

From the front porch. A gathering place for my thoughts, ideas, and recollections. I love spacious porches, sitting next to my husband, good coffee, conversations with friends and family, and especially those four things together. I love being part of a faithful church. I also have a fondness for folksy music, running beside fields (used to be cotton;now it’s wheat), all things vintage, good books, and the color yellow. Babies and More Babies.
