The First Barbary War. United States President Thomas Jefferson refused to pay this tribute to pirates from the Barbary States seizing American merchant ships and holding the crews for ransom, causing Tripoli to declare war against the United States. When the Quasi-War with France threatened to escalate in 1798, Congress $2 million in new taxes on real estate and slaves. John Fries (like many American citizens) was not too fond of these taxes, and took action in Pennsylvania. Battle of Queenston Heights.

Never set out to see this home in such a state, of not being able to invest in the upkeep as we should. Life was good, life was going well we had our ups and downs but then we all do, no life is perfect, everyone of us sees our share of storms. Warmer temps bring melting snow, Geese coming back, mud and planing the garden. Over the Winter, I have putting the Rabbit manure on the lot garden adding to the compost we started with. By doing so we added about another inch or so of Organic to the Garden space with 4″ to the Potato trenches this should help a great deal to improve this area for growing in. February 24, 2017.

The house was build in 1905 in what is now the West 6th St neighborhood in Racine WI. Being the first home build in the new subdivision located less then one mile from Racine city hall. The home it self was build by Danish workmen (from the style of the Staircase). The builder built this home for his father who in 1905 was a retired cargo ship captain on the great lakes.

Note the lack of named Streets on the map, this is due to the Subdivision is about 40 years from being created.
