American Paradox: Senator Brownback and Evolution

http://americanparadox.blogspot.com/2007/06/senator-brownback-and-evolution.html

Senator Brownback and Evolution. Senator Brownback has written a defense. Of his decision to raise his hand at the recent Republican candidates debate when the question was asked, Who among you does not believe in the theory of evolution? Good news, on the one hand. We always want the most fringe beliefs to stand out so they can be defeated by reasoned democracy. But let's break down Brownback's N.Y. Times column:. More than that, faith not science can help us understand the breadth of human suffering or...

The Chronicle: 5/5/2006: The Self-Inflicted Wounds of the Academic Left. The Chronicle: 5/5/2006: The Self-Inflicted Wounds of the Academic Left. Too true. These are the brilliant people who can sit around and bash President Bush as much as a blue-collar worker can, but cannot for the life of them recommend alternative policies. A shameful waste of intellectual resources. Posted by Vanity @ 16:02 0 comments. Arts and Letters Daily. New Egg: For Ordering PC Parts.

American Paradox: The Drug Vote

http://americanparadox.blogspot.com/2007/07/drug-vote.html

Tell Bill Clinton to go and inhale" - Cypress Hill, "I Want to Get High". Is proportionate to the offense of selling two ounces of marijuana, a substance without a meaningful LD-50. How widespread is the dissatisfaction with drug laws? Why are people dissatisfied? According to Citizens Against Prohibition, there are at least 40 million Americans. The high levels of enforcement in drug interdiction at our borders has the undisputed economic effect of increasing the cost of drugs due to artifical scarcity ...

American Paradox: No rant, only links

http://americanparadox.blogspot.com/2006/09/no-rant-only-links.html

No rant, only links. I don't have a rant today or anything, so I thought I would post neat links and news items:. Good links or news items. Dumb state senator believes God saved him, implying God purposefully killed the other 47 passengers. And you wonder why Christianity gets a bad rap among the intelligentsia, when people say shit like this. Too funny, middle-aged man walks through airport security with a vibrator in his pants, confuses TSA. Read the whole entry. That's all for now. Links to this post:.

http://blog.mattglaeser.org/2009_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 26, 2009. Thursday, March 19, 2009. Oi… Hopefully it is on to better things. Friday, March 6, 2009. My favorite dog growing up was a sheltie. But ours was a bit of a freak he was nearly 30% larger than they are supposed to grow and ran like a grey hound. No joke. When we had him at my grandma’s farm he would run alongside of cars down the 1 mile drive way. We clocked him one time around 30 mph! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. http://blog.mattglaeser.org/2009_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 27, 2009. I’m too social to work remotely. At any rate I am going to avoid remote work from this point on, at least for any duration that is more than a week or two. Of course the one up side is all the time I get to spend with my wife and getting to sleep next to her on a regular basis. But I could probably get that working locally at a normal job, I just don't like working from home. Friday, February 20, 2009. Friday, February 13, 2009. Friday, February 6, 2009. Tuesday, November 25, 2008. An Easy Go Live. On my second go-live things were much better. We still had a lot of unresolved issues but for most of the team we never noticed because the client kept everyone busy upgrading the new system! We went live on time and with very few issues. In fact the support team that was not actively training users was somewhat bored. Within two weeks of going live the client was discussing issue that most clients don’t worry about for a year. Monday, July 27, 2009. I guess I should have ordered a bigger TV. I just used theirs. Well finally the last roommate/renter was moving out and we would be going to the 19 inch with rabbit ears and digital tuner box thanks to the government’s digital TV switch program. We COULD have gotten along fine with this. It is all we used for almost a year at one point. She wasn’t she said buy it! Monday, July 20, 2009. Wednesday, July 15, 2009. When We are Married.
