America On Foot: Day 4: Natchez Trace

http://americaonfoot.blogspot.com/2012/02/day-4-natchez-trace.html

Saturday, February 4, 2012. Day 4: Natchez Trace. Day one down on the parkway! We walked 17 miles today, including one mile from our hotel to the beginning of the road. It rained just about all day today, but stopped in time for us to set up camp and cook dinner. We visited a neat old cabin along the way today. It served as an inn to the travelers of the original Natchez Trace road. Thanks to Dennis, Scott, and Debi of the National Park Service for the great tour and good conversation. Hi Chris and Jen.

America On Foot: January 2012

http://americaonfoot.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 27, 2012. We just finished up at the storage unit and all of our stuff (including Sue the Subaru) will reside in a 10' x 20' box for the next several months! Of course, it had to snow during the exact hour we were loading up the truck outside the apartment. But sunny skies are in the forecast for the rest of the weekend. The countdown is on and we have 5 more days until our flight to New Orleans! Monday, January 23, 2012. Location: Southeast Denver Denver. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, November 7, 2011. Letter to friends and family breaking the news. Dear Family and Friends,. Of course, if you are able, we will have an “open walk” policy if you ever desire to join us at any point on our trip. We are also open to suggestions of places to see along our way, and if you have friends or family who live on our route, we would love to meet up with them! There is a map on the blog showing our general route, if you are interested. November 7, 2011 at 5:11 PM. Also, this is pretty cool!

America On Foot: Day 59: Escape from DC

http://americaonfoot.blogspot.com/2012/03/day-59-escape-from-dc.html

Friday, March 30, 2012. Day 59: Escape from DC. Man, what a day. For as much as we wanted to leave DC, DC sure didn't seem like it wanted us to leave. However, after struggling with last minute gear purchases, wrong turns onto busy roads, and a ridiculous subway ride, we made it to the C&O Canal Trail. In the meantime, stay tuned for our new bike adventure! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Day 4: Natchez Trace. Day one down on the parkway! Day 1: Denver to New Orleans. The official release - the Sunburst Sling sewing pattern! And I must say, I am mighty proud of this one. Orders are on their way to distributors as we speak! In other news, for the next six months I will be unable to sell patterns to individuals or small orders to quilt shops - I'm going on a trip! Want details about the trip? Then hop on over to America On Foot. Where my husband and I will be cataloging our trek! Links to this post. Labels: down to business. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Getting back on the horse. Things have been progressing more slowly than expected - I had planned to release my new pattern by now, but those of you who have heard about our new adventure may be able to forgive me for my slack. If you haven't heard, pop on over to America On Foot. Then pop back over here to finish reading this post. You can see why I've been sidetracked! So the point of this post is that I need your help. I need some extra sets of eyes to read and sew through my latest pattern.

Tent Rocks National Monument, New Mexico. Yesterday Chris and I ventured about an hour north of Albuquerque to a place called Tent Rocks. When I go to places like this, I remember why I love the desert so much. the rock formations are just incredible. The day was perfect - upper 70s and clear blue skies. Ah, New Mexico. it's good to be back! Links to this post. Today I found myself on the east slope of the Sandia Mountains. Chris has been training for a ridiculous trail running race.
