The musings, rants, and dissertations of three retired military guys. Two Air Force, one Navy. The Old AF Sarge, Juvat, and Tuna. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Le Voyage - Troisieme Étape. Or Isn't That Michael Caine? This fellow seemed very cultured and personable. Now this was a Sunday, though I had dreams of being roommate-free after the second one, I know that hospital costs, etc., etc. would cause me to get another roommate. How could he possibly be worse that Stalin? So Michael, er Paul, his name was...

As many of you might know, I was admitted to the hospital in the fair city of Providence on the last Friday in July. (It was also the last day of July for those needing more precise detail.). The musings, rants, and dissertations of three retired military guys. Two Air Force, one Navy. The Old AF Sarge, Juvat, and Tuna. Monday, August 31, 2015. Such was the case on Saturday when Sarge wrote a fabulous post that ended up being dominated in the comments by the subject of military uniforms and the foibles of their procurement and wear. I read the post and the comments and felt the tap on the shoulder from what Sarge would call his Muse. So, There I was….*. Now remember my three prior assignments...

The musings, rants, and dissertations of three retired military guys. Two Air Force, one Navy. The Old AF Sarge, Juvat, and Tuna. Saturday, August 8, 2015. After a week in the hospital, a week after some pretty major surgery, I have returned home. While I do have some heavy duty pain medication in the storage locker, I have yet to avail myself of such things. My pain is manageable and nice to have. Would I rather be pain free? I'll take some pain now to avoid more pain later. Having a morphine based pain...

Little Grey Bungalow: Quote of the Day
http://littlegreybungalow.blogspot.com/2015/07/quote-of-day.html
Friday, July 3, 2015. Quote of the Day. When the Know-Nothings get control, it [the Declaration] will read “All men are created equal – except Negroes, foreigners and Catholics.” When it comes to this, I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty – to Russia , for instance – where despotism can be taken pure without the alloy of hypocrisy. A. Lincoln. Thanks for the reminder. July 4, 2015 at 10:31 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Because Help Can't Wait.

Little Grey Bungalow: Something Different
http://littlegreybungalow.blogspot.com/2015/08/something-different.html
Sunday, August 9, 2015. This was the sandwich spread my mother made with the leftover butt-end when we had ham. It wasn’t until I was a lot older that I learned most people use sweet pickles in their ham spread. 1 pound of leftover ham, approx. 2 dill pickle quarters plus about 2 T juice. 2 T French mustard. Throw everything into the food processor (my mother had a hand-cranked meat chopper. And process in bursts until it is lumpy. Don’t over-process; this isn’t intended to be a paste. Honey from a Weed.
