Current research is focused multi-rotor flight for education (Meyer), entertainment and weather research (M. Walker), and assistive technology - including current work on assistive crawling robot systems for infants with cerebral palsy. Sampling has looked at processing small ice cores (Iyer), going through the weathering rind on surface boulders (Murarka) and processing full sized rock cores for the MARTE Mars drill (see Krause for hardware and Branson for software).

The IRL has taken on a number of projects and has teamed with MSSS Inc, NASA Ames, KIPR and other organizations for some of these projects. Most of our projects have been documented in papers, photos or both. Contain chronologically arranged project photos.
