Experiences amongst our time as "clinicians". Thursday, September 30, 2010. Poop I hate poop. And yet.poop is an integral part of my daily life. Why? I am human. I have to poop. It's unfortunate, but true. Viruses and germs. We had one mom call in today and told us that she was going to pick her son up from school because he had diarrhea. She was calling to see if she should bring him in to therapy today. Uh.how about? Oh wait, except whoever built the building made a "minor" error and the bathroom is ve...

Story Time: An interesting patient
http://storiesofclinic.blogspot.com/2013/02/an-interesting-patient.html
Experiences amongst our time as "clinicians". Sunday, February 17, 2013. I should write a case study about this one, but based on my current workload- it's not gonna happen. She's been a fascinating patient though. After a very thorough history, some poking around and a general assessment, I decided that she could come for therapy 2x per week and I would start with soft tissue work. In my head I was freaking out. What the heck? This was definitely not in any of the textbooks that I read! I have no idea w...

Experiences amongst our time as "clinicians". Sunday, August 1, 2010. Definitely my most awkward moment in clinic thus far. Pt profile: 27 yr old male, neck pain. MD dx: myofascial pain syndrome. Onset of injury: 1 yr. Pt history taken, no other significant comorbidities. Pt is in excellent health other than persistent neck pain, insidious onset, complaints of muscle tightness, decreased ROM. Story Time: Almost a year...
http://storiesofclinic.blogspot.com/2013/02/almost-year.html
Experiences amongst our time as "clinicians". Friday, February 1, 2013. How very mortal we are and how fragile is life. I can't imagine watching my child play everyday and not knowing if he will be here next year. I can't imagine watching him have to go through treatment so intense that it just makes him ill- nearly kills him- in order to try and save his life. Friday nights- just over a month ago I started treating a two year old (whose birthday to turn 3 is tomorrow! Breaking the bad news-.

Experiences amongst our time as "clinicians". Wednesday, January 18, 2012. I decided to continue blogging. I want to somewhere document things that I remember. I have a lot of catching up to do, but for now.I'll just include recent. He's so awesome. He is two years old and as soon as we stood hip up to start walking, he walked. He was ready as every. Never mind that he is missing his foot- he's ready to play! He's a blond hair, blue eyed, beautiful boy! So yesterday morning I went to go see him at 8 in t...

Story Time: TMR

Experiences amongst our time as "clinicians". Sunday, October 17, 2010. Been using this technique on some of my kiddos. One of the therapists took the class. Very interesting. It's similar to strain-counterstrain treatments. That's where the original idea came from. Http:/ www.totalmotionrelease.com/index.html. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Simple template. Story Time: "Insidious Toe-walking"
http://storiesofclinic.blogspot.com/2010/10/insidious-toe-walking.html
Experiences amongst our time as "clinicians". Sunday, October 17, 2010. And just now she finally got sent to PT because she is toe-walking. Her pediatrician has been telling her mother since this girl was 10 months old that she would grow out of it, the orthopedic who saw her 4 years ago told her to do calf stretches. Seriously? I don't understand toe-walking. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Simple template. Template images by luoman.
