Thursday, January 17, 2013. Textured Copper Link Bracelet. After working on a few single pieced forged bracelets, I decided to try my hand at cutting and shaping. I cut five links out of sheet copper and textured and formed them. I then drilled holes and linked them together. I finished the piece by adding an adjustable chain and lobster claw clasp. Sunday, March 4, 2012. Painted Easter Egg Tutorial. Spring is in the air again! I just love the pastel colors and sweet baby animals Easter brings each year. To celebrate, I put together a little tutorial for you! I used store bought papier mache eggs. These craft paper eggs can be found inexpensively in most craft stores. In this example, I used a light blue base and pale purple, yellow and pink lines for the pattern. A basket of eggs that you can enjoy each Spring and Easter for years to come.

Tuesday, July 12, 2011. On Saturday I picked up some supplies for sprucing up the homefront while my guy is in San Francisco this week. My power bill was a whopping $300 last month, so I decided one really good investment would be programmable thermostats. I also wanted to address the kitchen floor that is drawing my ire, so I also bought a scrub brush and some grout stain. So today I called the service company and they are yet to return my call. We may have to resort to sleeping on the couch tonight.

Amethyst Artworks: Watercolor Paintings by Karen English

This watercolor triptych represents a gathering of birds throughout three seasons in a wooded backyard in upstate New York. In Spring, American Goldfinches and a Northern Oriole perch in a lilac bush. Eastern Bluebirds enjoy a bath in Summer while a Ruby-throated Hummingbird feeds on Bee Balm.
