Thursday, July 9, 2009. 070909 - A Full Day in Florence. At last, it was time to pack up our things and get ready to catch the train in the morning. Venice, here we come! A view of the Ponte Vecchio bridge from the Uffizi Gallery (you weren’t allowed to take pictures of any of the art work so you won’t be getting any shots of those…). Just outside the Uffizi gallery, art is everywhere! The street market vendors in Florence. Steph and Adam went to the da Vinci museum while Joey and I were exploring. Hmmmm...

Thursday, July 2, 2009. And, off we go. Pasta, gelato, pizza.mmmmm, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Above all, the Italians seem to have a "Carpe Diem" attitude that reminds us to relish every moment and enjoy life to the fullest. Plus, don't forget the food. We're looking forward to our trip. Tuesday, July 7, 2009. 070709 – When in Rome…. After spending the morning shopping, we came back to the apartment to eat lunch and take a quick break from the heat. It’s been in the upper 80’s all week, which seems normal for the Carolinas, but in a city with very little air conditioning and a lot of outside sightseeing, it seems even more scalding. We enjoyed another fresh pasta lunch before heading down to tour the Coliseum. I love these outdoor markets! Inside the famous Rome Coliseum. And, off we go.
