My friend, Kristi, just recently blogged about the things she has learned in her life and it got me thinking.what have I learned in life? I started thinking about the past two years and living in the house we're in now and came up with a few things. (Nothing profound, but I am glad that I have learned these things.). Buy a house if you know the basement leaks! Weeds never stop growing! Kids need a place to run and jump and climb on.

Tuesday, February 24, 2009. That's the day my baby boy was born. He's turning 7 on Friday. I thought it would be fun to put in some photos of him. The early baby pictures aren't on the computer, so these pictures are from 18 months on. Enjoying the beach. Giving his little sister a hug. All of his animals. Taking his bear, Fred, for a hike. When bringing out toys from storage, be prepared for some increased fighting(chances are GREAT that only one of the new toys will be the one they BOTH want to play with! Don't give kids little stones kits EVER.OR.be sure you know where they are playing with them.(helps avoid vacuuming up a tiny stones graveyard from deep carpeting down the road)*sigh*. Home is where the heart is. Wednesday, January 7, 2009. The continuing saga of David's schooling. David and his beloved caterpillar. And then there is always all the toys at school for him to play with. Anway he keeps busy and hasn't been complaining so for now that's what we do each day. So that's how things are going. We have another appointment to meet with the Principal, School Psychologist, and David's teacher, Mrs. Nelson on Jan 12th. That's next Monday. More to follow. You are a dedicated Mom!

2 cups all purpose flour. 1 tablespoon baking powder. 1 stick unsalted butter. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease a cast iron skillet. Mix dry ingredients together. Cut butter into flour mixture and blend with a pastry blender until it is a crumbly mixture. Add buttermilk.
