The Naked Emperor: October 2004
http://thenakedemperor.blogspot.com/2004_10_01_archive.html
Last night the latest Osama bin Laden video, so close to the election, was on my mind. I went outside to have a cigarette, and was promptly bitten by a mosquito. Then It hit me. Maybe not a lightning bolt epephany, but a strong light bulb type. Living in Louisiana, Im quite familiar with mosquitos. We even have t-shirts naming them the state bird. Terrorists are mosquitos. Osama bin Laden is a mosquito. Nothing more and nothing less. And what about the obsession with OBL? When I am bitten by a mosquito, ...

The Naked Emperor: February 2007
http://thenakedemperor.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
It seems my wife actually reads this drivel, and makes intelligent comments. Last night she mentioned something about Hillary saying Bill was "the most popular man in the world right now" , and thought I should opine on that. She also mentioned Obama, and the race so far. But as she well knows, my brain has a mind of it's own so to speak. And we don't even have any two-legged kids. And this isn't the beginning, they've been running for months now. Also I heard on the news that Hillary and Obama are each ...

The Naked Emperor: April 2004
http://thenakedemperor.blogspot.com/2004_04_01_archive.html
It's a beautiful day here. I've spent all the daylight hours this week working on the farm, and I'm tired. So I'm taking the afternoon off to write drivel, then maybe a nap. I'm reminded of a song from World War I. To help with the war effort, citizens were encouraged to give up certain items on one day a week. Meatless Mondays, wheatless Wednesdays, you get the picture. "My Mondays are meatless, my Wednesdays are wheatless, I'm getting more eatless each day.". In the bad old days, convicts were fed brea...

The Naked Emperor: September 2004
http://thenakedemperor.blogspot.com/2004_09_01_archive.html
Well, this is waaay overdue. I've spent all of this last week on duty, including extra shifts for labor day, and Monday night filling in for my opposite number. And since then, I spent an entire day trying to get home from New Orleans, mixed in with the evacuees. Since I got home, we've been preparing for house guests. Anyway, I know you might want to read something. Since I've been so short of time, I haven't had any chance to come up with coherent thoughts for you. "What? Why I am voting for Bush.

The Naked Emperor: White Coat and Pink Crustacean
http://thenakedemperor.blogspot.com/2008/06/white-coat-and-pink-crustacean.html
White Coat and Pink Crustacean. I really don't know what my readers think. Do they think I have talent, or are they just trying to shut me up? Anyway, one of them sent me this. You've just got to read it before we go on. Is this a gauntlet thrown before me, or a "Go ahead, I dare you? Well, impetuosity has always been one of my failings, there just aren't enough windmills to tilt at. My first reaction to the article was "Are they friggin NUTS? You see, we just don't think about them down here. Let's face...

The Naked Emperor: A Saturday Night Treat
http://thenakedemperor.blogspot.com/2008/06/saturday-night-treat.html
A Saturday Night Treat. Well, if you've been keeping up with the surgery saga, all is well. But I've been housebound since Tuesday. The knee is feeling better than it did before the scope, but I'm still a bit leery of doing too much. Hell, I haven't even seen the PT yet. And I've been behaving myself. Thenakedempress hasn't grabbed a weapon or my Vicodin, or even threatened to. So it was time to reward her, and myself, and break my confinement. So we went out to supper at La Carreta's. They also played m...

The Naked Emperor: Delightful Failure
http://thenakedemperor.blogspot.com/2008/06/delightful-failure.html
OK, I've tried writing three different blogs today, and got nothing. They were preachy, and about as funny as used Depends. I wanted to write something about the environment, but kept failing. Recently, I've become quite the fan of Theo Spark's posts over at Last of the Few. UPDATE - Holy Poop, one case of writers block, and one smartass comment on Pajamas Media. And the hit counters go WILD! Posted by The Grey Man @ 21:18. At June 22, 2008 at 12:08 PM. At June 22, 2008 at 3:01 PM. A Saturday Night Treat.

I've been bad about the blog again. So much has happened. Harry Reid conceding defeat to the terrorists. The Virginia Tech suicide gunman. Upholding the partial birth ban. I find myself quite angry at most of this. But sadly I find my gift for invective lacking. Not that I'm too bad at it, I can do a good zinger or two at need. But my abilities pale in comparison to the current situation. We'll start with Virginia Tech. We need to remember to be thankful that this murderer was, on the whole, unskilled.

The Naked Emperor: The American Caesar
http://thenakedemperor.blogspot.com/2008/08/american-caesar.html
This is the speech I want to see given at the Republican Convention next week:. Friends, Americans, Countrymen, lend me your ears; I come tonight to discuss Senator Obama, not to praise him. I have witnessed the victorious Senator in his classic triumph at his Roman Forum in Denver. I choose to answer in kind. Yet we are told Obama is an honorable man. He hath brought much cash back to his freinds in Chicago. Yet Obama is an honorable man. He seeks to criminalize any dissent from his Almighty policies...

Dear gentle reader,. I'm baack. My deepest apologies, but I've been a bit busy with work, garden, and an erection that's taken way too long. The erection was only supposed to be a few weeks, but it's been extended to a couple of months now due to weather, scheduling delays, etc. I don't know where you were going with that, but I'm talking about the building of the new shed. And yes, you doubters in the audience, I'm finally getting my shed together. But enough about me, let's talk politics. Senator Kerry...
