Tuesday, July 26, 2011. The next day we went to The Tap to watch the Women’s World Cup heart breaking loss. But, our day was salvaged as Paul unexpectedly ran into another study abroad friend, Leah, from Costa Rica. After the penalty kicks and reconnecting chats, we hit the road to Badlands National Park in South Dakota (emphasis on the bad. After leaving the Badlands, we desperately needed to clean ourselves, so, of course, we stopped by the Wall, South Dakota fire department for a little hose down.

http://bzurkdoeswork.blogspot.com/2011/10/returning-to-mile-high.html
Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Returning to the Mile High. While we continue to promise “more posts,” we’re realizing that we really can’t live up to that. Our internet access is truly few and far between and (as you may have read about) we do awesome shit all day long and don’t want to slow down to sit on the internet. But alas, we’ve arrived at Ben’s Aunt Laurie and Uncle Gar’s wonderful abode in Littleton, Colorado. And you guessed it, they got them interwebs). So I get to catch all you loyal (and demanding.

Wednesday, May 26, 2010. St Louis, Sénégal Jazz Festival. Even though I sadly had to miss the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. I was able to get my down home late night dancing fill in St. Louis, Senegal at the jazz fest there. St. Louis. Pronounced Sant loohee) is the old french colonial capital of Senegal and French West Africa. So its got a pretty unique vibe and architecture. For some reason it reminds of French/African Duluth, MN. I'm getting better every time I go out to dance Senegalese sty...

Wednesday, January 4, 2012. Millions Suffer Under Anti-Immigration Policies. Concerning 9/11, Fitz says that, “the state of the immigration debate changed … in an instant.” The attacks re-framed immigration as a homeland security and anti-terrorist issue, with fatal consequences. According to Schneider, “Our securitization has made the border more dangerous, which is why we see more deaths [of people irregularly crossing]”. Estimates suggest there are approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants livi...

BZurk does Work: August 2011
http://bzurkdoeswork.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 28, 2011. Stage 4 - the BROad Trip. After arriving in Portland, Ben jetted off to Taos for a family vacation and Tommy finally joined us again after galavanting in Turkey for the past two weeks. Since Kate and Sarah hail from the grand ol' Rose City, we were able to use it as a home base of sorts and take a brief respite from the road. Many thanks to both of our families for your hospitality, food, and good times! The following day we headed southwest towards the famed highway 101, stoppin...

Monday, November 12, 2012. I've moved to NYC and its been loads of fun. I'm surrounded by friends and family and am feeling more fulfilled by the work and creative outlets every day. Halloween was a hoot but Hurricane Sandy has really made a profound impact in NYC. Occupy Sandy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Does NIH do eno...
