Mosaic of Life

Celebrating the beauty and purpose of ordinary moments. There is freedom in exposure and power in written word. Thursday, August 12, 2010. I mysteriously settled into a circle of girls in junior high and high school whose lives were notably different than my own. Their houses were twice (maybe three times) as big as mine. Their cars were **** and new. They dressed and accessorized just like the magazines. They were effortlessly cool, and I . . . was a clumsy fraud. Interesting isn’t it? It’s quite ...

Mosaic of Life: June 2010

http://amosaicoflife.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Celebrating the beauty and purpose of ordinary moments. There is freedom in exposure and power in written word. Sunday, June 27, 2010. Darkness swept over me, stealing my voice, and in the hush- chaos was unleashed. I ached and toiled for resolve in the silence, afraid to invite anyone in- even my most intimate friend. I was haunted by death and birth in the night, tangible life and the slipping of it. Yes, darkness swept over me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Mosaic of Life: Attachment

http://amosaicoflife.blogspot.com/2010/05/attachment.html

Celebrating the beauty and purpose of ordinary moments. There is freedom in exposure and power in written word. Sunday, May 16, 2010. I smile as I reflect on the naivety of those days and assess our way with Jonah. I am far from scheduled and ridged. I am soft and responsive (those who know me well would likely add “overly”). I look nothing like the book said I should. I have entirely missed the mark- at least by Ezzo’s standards. Why am I sharing this? It seems I may need to seek the assistance of a pro...

Padded Walls in Mikes Mind: Time and Eternity

http://mikeeesmind.blogspot.com/2015/06/time-and-eternity.html

Padded Walls in Mikes Mind. Saturday, June 20, 2015. Man was created as an eternal creature. Due to the sin of the first man, Adam, man’s ability has changed from eternal to finite, though his nature remains eternal. If I am told something is a mile in diameter, I can pretty much comprehend that, but tell me it is a billion miles in diameter, and my gray matter becomes gray goo. So 10 billion light years? I often think about the Apostle John, and the vision he had of the Revelation of Christ. His rec...

Ardor Awakening: September 2012

http://ardorawakening.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 11, 2012. This is what the Lord says:. 8220;Stand at the crossroads and look;. Ask for the ancient paths,. Ask where the good way is, and walk in it,. And you will find rest for your souls.". Over the last few years I’ve become increasingly aware of an ineffable stirring in my heart. As my spirit has opened to God’s whisper and directives, this stirring has evolved into a thirst: a profound thirst like that which arises in barren lands. The Abbey of Gethsemane. I would go back several ...

Padded Walls in Mikes Mind: October 2013

http://mikeeesmind.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Padded Walls in Mikes Mind. Wednesday, October 30, 2013. I think it is amazing how we as humans communicate to each other with BODY LANGUAGE. Even when we speak the same language, we seem to use our hands to convey the words that we speak. When we are adamant about what we are saying, our hands move wildly about, swooshing this way and that, pointing in every direction, or just making gestures with our hands. As a Christian, there should be a lot of conversations with God in your life. Most probably ...

Ardor Awakening: August 2011

http://ardorawakening.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 9, 2011. This moved me deeply this morning. It seemed especially appropriate as I wrestle with the idea of sacrament and what it means for God to use the tangible to convey His healing presence. Have your heart right with Christ,. And He will visit you often,. Weekdays into Sundays,. Meals into sacraments,. Homes in to temples. And earth into heaven. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Lisa's Random Thoughts: Mothers Day

http://thoughtsbylisakay.blogspot.com/2011/05/mothers-day.html

Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Mothers Day was so relaxing! The men of the family (and some of the younger unmarried and no-children members of the family) took it upon themselves to do all the cooking, setting up, and cleaning up for Sunday dinner. All of the mothers even got to go first in line, which hardly ever happens. Why does food taste so much better when you don't have to cook it yourself? Haha It was a very relaxing day and made me realize again how much I love my family! I know I did! And 2 became 4.

Ardor Awakening: So...what is worship?

http://ardorawakening.blogspot.com/2011/04/sowhat-is-worship.html

Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Worship is unique in that its direction is three-fold. It involves examining and revisiting the past with a spirit of gratitude for all God has done for us. It requires an awareness of God’s activity and his grace and mercy toward us in the present, and it compels us to expectantly fix our attention on the future hope we have in his promise to restore and recreate all things. Ardor Awakening: November 2010

http://ardorawakening.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 8, 2010. 8220;When was the moment that you first fell in love with me? 8221; She asks, waiting patiently for my response. The question comes repeatedly, sometimes on dates and dinners, but most often on anniversaries. I know this may sound insensitive, but for a while I couldn’t understand why my wife had such a terrible memory. “Haven’t I told her this story a hundred times? 8221; I would think to myself. Friday, November 5, 2010. Hope to get back into the swing of things soon. For as l...
