A Mother's Tales: Surviving One Moment at a Time

A Mother's Tales: Surviving One Moment at a Time. Tuesday, January 1, 2013. I saw on a friend's Facebook page today that instead of making a resolution, she was going to pick a word - just one word - that would be her focus this year (see http:/ myoneword.org/ for more info). I like this idea because this one word can be incorporated into all aspects of your life. My word this year is PRACTICE. Why practice? Fall off the wagon? Stray from where I want to be? What am I going to practice this year? CED pla...

A Mother's Tales: Surviving One Moment at a Time: Carving Pumpkins

http://amotherstales.blogspot.com/2011/10/carving-pumpkins.html

A Mother's Tales: Surviving One Moment at a Time. Sunday, October 30, 2011. Carving pumpkins is always an interesting experience in our house. JAD and I had a wrestling match over who could get pumpkin goo on the other person. Sadly, it was a draw. The kid is almost as tall as me now. A couple more inches and I'll start looking up at him. http://amotherstales.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

A Mother's Tales: Surviving One Moment at a Time. Monday, May 30, 2011. Yesterday, we headed to Old Colorado City for Territory Days. It's a huge street fair with vendors - both food and 'store' - musical acts, and some cowboy-type displays. We watched a quick-draw shootout (the fastest time was .414 seconds! He will always be remembered and loved by my family for the sacrifice he made with his own life on his second tour of duty in Iraq. Friday, May 27, 2011. So, MED will continue at the conservatory ne...

A Mother's Tales: Surviving One Moment at a Time. Sunday, October 30, 2011. The Asylum is Almost Open. This year's Halloween theme at our house is the 'Red Oak Asylum'. The whole family is taking part in this theme, with all of us dressing as doctors, nurses, and patients. This is what our front yard is shaping up to look like, with a day left to go before we open for business. We are looking forward to admitting new patients tomorrow. It's Never Really Over. A Mother's Tales: Surviving One Moment at a Time. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. There's a Countdown Going On. MED and MAD, in particular, have a countdown going on in our house. It really kind of tickles me to see MED do this as she's been practicing subtraction skills without even realizing it (she's four! What are they counting down to? We have a few plans in place - nothing too involved and things that everyone should enjoy. I know that everyone will like Garden of the Gods. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Meanwh...

A Mother's Tales: Surviving One Moment at a Time: April 2011

http://amotherstales.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

A Mother's Tales: Surviving One Moment at a Time. Saturday, April 30, 2011. JEDs game, fortunately, is a better story. His coach asks him every day before the game to 'go score goals.' We've even gone so far as to offer him $0.50 per goal. Well, today we have to pay up. JED scored four goals and was certainly the MVP for his team today! They ended up tied at 5-5, but JED was quite happy with the results. I always love going to watch all of my kids play soccer, but I'm really glad today is over. Whew.

The ramblings and wonderings of Keith Daugherty…. Da Boys like to “talk”. 20 Years Ago Today →. April 26, 2011. When I need to get away for a moment I know that the library or a bookstore can calm me down instantly. In possessing an insane love of traditional books the decision to go with an eReader was a tough one. The decision actually was monumental for me as I can’t justify spending money on something that I wouldn’t use. This entry was posted in Books. And tagged Nook Color. 20 Years Ago Today →.

The ramblings and wonderings of Keith Daugherty…. A dad and his teenage son. April 22, 2011. JA is only a few months away from turning 14 and he has become a fully functioning teenage boy. I am extremely proud of him and the fine young man he has become. His grades are good, he is a soccer star, and he is about as well behaved as a teenage boy can be. Thank God that we had soccer games that we had to be at! I am currently reading. This entry was posted in JA. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You are commentin...

The ramblings and wonderings of Keith Daugherty…. A dad and his teenage son. Da Boys like to “talk” →. April 23, 2011. Happy Easter Weekend to everyone. Yes, I know that not everyone celebrates Easter. In respect to that fact I figured I would bring to point that:. There are about 6.9 billion people in the world. If we look at the breakdown of religious affiliations it looks something like this:. Christianity – 32-33%. Islam – 21-22%. Hinduism – 13%. Buddhism – 6%. Judaism – .2%. Why do I point this out?

A Mother's Tears

Saturday, May 16, 2015. A little later we were at a shopping center and came to a stop beside a van that had a graphic of two white doves on the back window! We knew then this was definitely a message; I took a picture and uploaded with this post. When we got to our house I picked up our mail. There was an envelope from an American Indian school that I opened. Inside there was an assortment of cards. The first card on top was a picture of a dream catcher with feathers! A Mother's Thought

Tuesday, July 31, 2007. My oldest daughter just lost a tooth. She has been wiggling these teeth for ages and has at least 2 more that are loose. Soon she will be done losing all her baby teeth, her faith in the tooth fairy already diminished. She is approaching her teen years, proving it with emotional upheaval and occasional but certain confidence that she is right and I am wrong. Thursday, July 19, 2007. I have a cookbook, passed down through 3 generations of women. Its loose pages are tattered, th...
