North Yorkshire County Council. Stay in NY Moors. A small group meets in the Village Hall on the last Monday in the month throughout the year, except in July and August. They meet from 7.30 pm 9.30 pm and the cost including refreshments is 2.50. For a total beginner of any age, tuition in a small group takes place every Thursday morning between 9.30 am 10.30 am or singly at a time to suit. The book being discussed then is ‘When Rain Clouds Gather’ by Bessie Head. We meet every 2 months and members take turns to make a book choice which is made 2 months ahead of each meeting. Did you know that there is a driver/befriender scheme that started in Ampleforth and is now expanding throughout Ryedale? The Driver and Befriender Project is run by the national charity CSV under the Retired Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP). It is coordinated by Steve Twynham. The service is run by volunteers, a dedicated group of people who give a little of their time willingly for the benefit of others.

The rucsack contains a defibrillator, oxygen and other relevant medical material. Our rotas are drawn up on what volunteers say they can do each month. There are no imposed duty periods and no minimum targets to be achieved - volunteers simply do what they can. The group is always looking for more volunteers in order to maintain 24 hour cover.
