The R2-A4 Project: February 2012
http://r2a4.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 24, 2012. Winter 2012 Update: Dome Nearly Done. The mildest, driest winter in history continues, and so I have been able to actually paint in 70 degree weather. Fantastic! Of course, all our ski resorts are suffering, but I am loving it. I haven’t had to shovel any snow yet! I’ve gotten the dome finish to a level I am very happy with, and I’ve prepped and painted all the dome panels. The sonic blue pearl works great, and two coats of gloss clear finish it all off. http://r2a4.blogspot.com/2011/12/back-in-business-jedi-control-dome-work.html
Sunday, December 11, 2011. Back in Business: JEDI Control and Dome Work. I received my complete JEDI Control kit back from Scott's repair work last week. I let him keep it for a few weeks to use as a template for other kits since I was down on building for a while anyway. So, I got it back last weekend, and this weekend I hooked it all back up: I am overjoyed to report that it works 100%! I have complete foot motor control, dome control, and sound control! The R2-A4 Project: Thanksgiving
http://r2a4.blogspot.com/2011/11/thanksgiving.html
Sunday, November 27, 2011. I think it's important at this time of year to take a moment to appreciate how lucky we all are that this is our hobby. We are truly fortunate people that we can spend thousands of dollars on what is, arguably, a toy. Anyway, I spent an hour or two this holiday weekend hiding from the relatives in my. Picking up a space heater today so I can function thru the winter. It gets damn cold out there by January. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dark Jedi Resin Bits. Dont tell Jind...

red's Droids: October 2011
http://r5-d4.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
This is my blog about building Astromech droids. Saturday, October 8, 2011. Worked on my antenna today. Today I tried to extend the range of the Vex antenna. Its really short like 12 inches long and means when I use the Vex transmitter I have to be atleast 12 feet away. Here is how I had it wired up. The vex is the yellow box with the short antenna I had wrapped around the frame. Posted by red UFO. Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Painting My Tinted Dome. This is my blog about building Astromech droids. Monday, December 26, 2011. Despite the lack of updates on here lately. I'm still working on droids, slow but sure. Here is a progress update. I have been collecting parts for to finish the domes. I recently got these HPs and radar eye in clear resin from Cal. I can't say enough about how awesome these parts are! Here is each HP part side by side for comparison. The old school HP is a little higher then the parts currently being run on and off. Victor's R2D...

red's Droids: Working on R2-Q5's dome
http://r5-d4.blogspot.com/2012/05/working-on-r2-q5s-dome.html
This is my blog about building Astromech droids. Thursday, May 31, 2012. Working on R2-Q5's dome. Here is my construction of the R2-Q5 dome in styrene. What seems like an easy project has turned into quite a challenge, read on. The inner and outer domes didn't quite fit so I had to cut the inner dome in half. I used Weld On 3 first to put the spider looking ring on. Glued the bottom but it didn't hold. What worpage might look like! This is what the other side looks like. After 1 year as a parts colle...
