The day we were chased by an elephant… | Amusingly Simple
https://amusinglysimple.wordpress.com/2009/07/28/chased-by-elephant
A travel blog by Deepak Venkatesan. The day we were chased by an elephant…. Not everyday does one get a chance of getting chased by a wild elephant. So, when this hair-raising experience happened to us in the Nagarhole forests. Of Karnataka, we had our hearts in our mouths, and my eyes were glued to the rearview mirror fearing the mighty beast might bang our vehicle from the back! However we were assured that this was the season, and rafting would happen at any cost. So, five of us made it to Kutta.

Located at around 250 kms from Bangalore, the journey is quick and scenic, and the roads are well marked and smooth. My trip in 2009. Belliappa’s Rest Inn homestay. Is located in the middle of his coffee estate. He rents out 2 clean rooms in front of his home to guests. You can have hot and tasty Coorgi food cooked by his ever-smiling wife Mrs.Sho...On the mo...

Fault By Default!: July 2010
http://faultbydefault.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
What did I do now? Sunday, July 25, 2010. Safari or Roller Coaster? Late afternoon, good weather, friends, vehicle with full tank, zest to go out, good old memories - I think are enough to drive you outta home and seek adventure. As it is not good planners, there was little that could hold us back at home. We hardly realized when our initial plans to go out on weekly grocery shopping turned into adventure trip to the Bannerghatta National Park. Flying over the new Electronics City. I guess our prayers we...
Fault By Default!: Marshes and Swamps..
http://faultbydefault.blogspot.com/2010/06/marshes-and-swamps.html
What did I do now? Friday, June 4, 2010. That's what we are talking about. Remind us of the vast wetlands from NatGeo. Programs, sometimes also from real life adventures, treks or other nature trips we have had made. But were those Swamps. Or were those Marshes. Aren't the two same? Well, practically all is true about both. A Swamp. Can have fresh water, brackish water or even salt (sea) water. Typically, a Marsh. And other herbaceous plants, and is void of any woody vegetation. A Swamp. Pain Heals, Chic...
Fault By Default!: May 2009
http://faultbydefault.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
What did I do now? Monday, May 4, 2009. I still remember the day when I landed in Bangalore - 26Nov1999. all I had was a rucksack, cotton mattress, blanket, bike and few household items. Ready to move anytime, anywhere. Took up the accommodation the same day (a friend had helped a lot in arranging the same). And until today. I was at the same place. Decision making has never been tough for us. what is tough is to build up enough pressure to push us! 0 comments so far; awaiting yours.
Fault By Default!: December 2010
http://faultbydefault.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
What did I do now? Sunday, December 5, 2010. Our Swift has already clocked 55,000 kms on the stock JK Vectras in just over 3 years. Though bald on the side-treads, they just don't seem to give up on the tarmac. Wet roads - thats the only place where they almost close their shop - having learnt that on our return from the last Pondy trip with quite frequent lateral shifts and roll in the rain. If the customers are young and racy, the funkier the tread pattern, the better the tyre. The deeper the custo...

Fault By Default!: October 2008
http://faultbydefault.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
What did I do now? Friday, October 31, 2008. Rossi barges in a day in advance - we are going to Yercaud, wanna join? Why the hell not? Yes, we are game. Thats how my plans generally get made, unlike the preferences of the high command. All set, lets go! Just kept to the left in Salem and in no time we were going from 400m to 1400m above MSL on the Yercaud Road [. We are not used to waking up early, so we did not! Quite a costly affair considering the time and span of the ride. As not many fancied the...

This is similar - One full day without fuel. morning till night. in a quest to get the maximum life. sounds familiar? Last evening were able to gather most of the stuff; but no hopes of henna. last minute dive for some dinner viola! Do we have another choice? The best part, we were together in this race for life. Amusingly Mormon Musings
Wednesday, April 23, 2014. It's been a long time. A lot has changed. My life has gotten more complicated. We've moved twice, have another child, another miracle - this time through adoption, and we have both struggled and rejoiced as a family of four. Often as I pray, answers come to me in the form of parables. This isn't surprising, as Jesus often spoke in parables, and they seem to be a form of communication that is particularly well suited for me. Last, the owner of the building came in with his famil...

Ramdom Bits from the Brain of Beth. Art & Craft Blogs. I feel oddly comforted. In that I’m comforted and you’re odd…. January 8, 2015. My neighbor has a big heart, that probably smells like cat pee. He runs a home for wayward felines on his porch. On any given day you’ll see probably 3-10 kittehs around his house. We had the following conversation the other day:. Me: Dude, you’ve got. Litter of kittens over there. Did you know that they mated with their momma? View all 2 comments. Long time, no posty.

Intermittently amusing, occasionally musing, invariably Malaysian. With 3 Oil and Gas (OnG) SPACs currently on the KLSE, Cliq Energy Berhad (CLIQ)looks to have a promising future if it repeats the performance of the SPAC superchild, Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad. As with such listings, CLIQ’s stock price have traded below it’s initial IPO price of RM0.75 on the 10th of April, 2013. Is this a sign of more upward movements in the coming days? Only time will tell. This entry was posted in Malaysian.

Thursday, May 10, 2012. Observation, you say? I mean, after more than three years of nothing you choose to call your post observation? Why not, back from the dead? Something that has a much truer ring to it? Well, I tell you why not.cause it's my blog and I get to. Not to mention it describes my life as of late. I know, I was just as surprised when I found out, but alas it is something I have to deal with. It stands for Fear Of Missing Out. It's true. I HATE. Even today I found myself stressing out about...

Thursday, 20 March 2014. Our sweet baby girl is 6 months old already. I almost want to cry about that. I love all the milestones - watching the boys marvel at her new teeth, how she can crawl, how clever she is when she "says" their name (! But it is all passing so quickly. This post was really just to touch base again (my husband. Encouraging me to get writing). More to come. For now, check out our back-to-school photos! And this was take two! Sunday, 20 October 2013. We got a girl. Taken last week, at ...
