Pursuing the prize at a marathon pace. June 22, 2008 in Uncategorized. After I got my ticket. I noticed the spirit of Indian entreprenuership in action. Just up the road from the helmet check was… a helmet wallah (vendor)! I’m not sure if the helmets or the fine cost more… but you get to keep the helmet! Comments feed for this article. Pursuing the prize at a marathon pace. May 26, 2008 in Uncategorized. I’m noticing that my threshold (or tolerance) is increasing slowly, day by day. What used to overwhelming now feels pretty normal. HEre are a few things that used to psuh my limits, but now are everyday things:. Riding down the main street on the back of a scooter. Walking to work in the middle of the day. An hour of Hindi study. Cycle rickshaw rides down bumpy dirt roads. Shopping at the local shops. Comments feed for this article.

Further thoughts on internal inconsistency | Running the Race

Pursuing the prize at a marathon pace. Further thoughts on internal inconsistency. May 26, 2008 in Uncategorized. Try saying the title three times fast…. So as I’ve thought further about the inconsistencies I’m noticing in Indian culture, I’ve had a few revelations. I’m noticing them here because I have an outside viewpoint. What is normal and everyday to most Indians is strange and new to me, so I tend to see things they don’t. All humans are fallen beings, we inherit sin and inconsistency when we are b...

Pursuing the prize at a marathon pace. June 22, 2008 in Uncategorized. I got my first Indian traffic violation today. When I pulled up to the chowk, the meaning of his message became clear:. So I got a ticket… for 100 rupees… or $2.50. Seriously. What a way to be introduced to my new home town! Comments feed for this article. You are ...

Simply Living…For Him. Minerals…I May Regret This. March 21, 2015, 12:17 am. So…I may regret this, but I have felt a strong desire to blog again, to write, share about what our family, and specifically, myself, has been facing in the past year. I want to begin by saying that I believe God can heal me. I believe He is IN THIS! And with that…. I have recently discovered that I have a pretty significant mineral imbalance. A year ago, I would have scoffed at that. I would have said, “So? At the time, I was r...

Simply Living…For Him. I’m A Social Moron. February 8, 2009, 12:49 am. Gosh, I wish I was better with people. Today I was marveling at how far I’ve come from having to have the approval of others to feel good about myself. I thought I had learned who I was and I liked that person! And then vanishing just as we arrive. God is mystery, ineffable mystery, naming a reality that we know, but the more we know, the more we are forced to un-know and rethink everything we thought we knew. 7 Comments so far.
