BACK IN THE USSR: Acceptance Timeline
http://pc-mattbrady.blogspot.com/p/acceptance-timeline_21.html
I now find it comical when people ask when my departure date is and I say, "at the end of March", and they go, " that's so soon! Because I've literally been waiting for that date for nine months. So, in actuality, that day couldn't come sooner. Using the power of GMail and my ability to never delete any emails (which is sad because I think I'm up to 25% of my allowed 7.5G of storage), I've been able to reconstruct a timeline of events that led up to my acceptance into the Peace Corps. Received invitation...

BACK IN THE USSR: September 2011

Thursday, September 29, 2011. Birthdays with Mr. Coco. If you feel so inclined, you can get your ukr dance party going while you read. So as most of you know, my birthday has come and gone and Ukrainians spared no expense in "expressing their wishes of wealth, happiness, and that all my plans find their way to success". I tried to make it clear that I'm not one to enjoy celebrating my own birthday. however I guess either they didn't understand my Ukranglish / didn't listen. A jar of Nutella gifted by t.

http://somethingfrosty.blogspot.com/2011/02/my-peace-corps-story.html
My Peace Corps Story. My Peace Corps Story. And now worked for PC in one way or another. There are 77 countries that PC Volunteers serve in at the moment, so was it sheer coincidence that Ukraine kept popping up? I think not. When I traveled to Eastern Europe on choir tour during the summer of 2004, I felt called to go back to Ukraine. And now, I am getting that amazing opportunity. The timeline below is as accurate an account of my application process to date. Let. One more note: for PC applicants, do n...

My Peace Corps Story. T-minus 48 hours and counting. Here's a little eye candy for you. But for now, these ideas will have to suffice :) enjoy! This looks handmade.perhaps a great Christmas gift idea? Cute scrapbooking paper, a fun font, funky ribbon, and a little elbow grease. Looks like something from Anthro. I'm not a fan of the flowers on these, but I love love love the rustic-y element of moss and the amount of texture that it brings. You can never go wrong with burlap! How stunning for a wedding.

My Peace Corps Story. The doma diaries: the kitchen hutch comes to life! The kitchen is slowly but surely coming together. Every time I walk in it, I feel so excited to think of what's next. This past week, our contractor built the new hutch that replaced an old desk area. To refresh your memory:. Bye bye green countertops. The best pic I have of the desk gone {far left}. My very rough, original drawing. Of counter-space at the normal 36", so I made the hutch's countertop height 42" tall. Let the framing...

Since Odessa is such a giant tourist attraction in the summer, they have all sorts of tourist picture traps available. He got that tattoo (his first tattoo! The Opera Theater by day. I think I'm going to tr...

My Peace Corps Story. Skiing in New Hampshire! While in New Hampshire on my trip up north, one of the main things on the agenda while I was there was to ski! So on the weekend of January 15 and 16, the three of us headed up to. Which had the best reviews of ski schools in the area. It also had a good spread of beginner and intermediate slopes, while some other mountains have only intermediate and advanced. The cute lodge sign upon entering the mountain.
