DIARY OF A STEM CELL TRANSPLANT. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. So, the doc says I'm having a "flare." The steroid isn't working so my doc here and my doc in Chicago have decided to put me on Cellcept. It is an immunosuppressant drug. I'll have to be very careful around sick people because I'm more vulnerable to illness on this medication. Hopefully, the Cellcept will help my joint pain. Aside from some continued mild symptoms, I am walking and talking and, most importantly, breathing. We got our daughter off to college okay but she is very homesick so there are lots of phone calls, texting, and IMing going on.
