A Balancing Act: March 2015
http://www.amygblog.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Travel Tuesday: Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, Jurrasic Park and more. Today I'm going to take y'all somewhere pretty special. Somewheres actually. To a wonderful land called Universal Studios where all of your dreams come true! You can soar alongside your favorite superheros. You can walk through life as a comic book character. You can venture out with the dinosaurs scavenging for fossils and running from dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. {. It's a leg dangling and jerky ride. Next while Al...

Wednesday, April 30, 2014. The Long Run: Tips to Prevent Injuries. I have a special treat for you on this Workout Wednesday. I have Shannon Lochwood here to talk about how to prevent injuries during training season! I know that half marathon season is in full force and you're probably close to race day, but sooner than you think, fall training will be here! Now take it away Shannon. Especially if you’re in a hurry to get your workout going. Ideally, you want to reserve about 10 minutes before you go runn...
A Balancing Act: 29 Week Bumpdate
http://www.amygblog.com/2015/05/29-week-bumpdate.html
Friday, May 15, 2015. Bumpdate I did was at 24 weeks. And today I am 29 weeks! It's hard to believe how fast and how slow time is going at the same time. So let's see how far we've come in 5 weeks! She's between 15-17 inches and 2.5-2.9lbs! She's only a few inches from the length she'll be at birth. From here on out it's all about packing on the pounds. Up 20 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. I definitely made up for the weight I lost when I was sick several weeks ago! 1 Liz Lange for Target. Rib pain, m...
A Balancing Act: August 2014
http://www.amygblog.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Once again, I managed to slip away from the blog world and sneak off up north! My dad, sister and I hopped on a plane { again. And headed up to Chicago. We actually spent most of our time in Tinley Park and Sycamore, but we also pit stopped in Chicago and Rockford! We took tons of pictures on my DSLR, but for now, here's a peek at some of my iPhone shots! Thursday evening was spent in Tinley Park at Dan and Ashley's rehearsal dinner. Such a blast with all my Timmer family. I lov...
A Balancing Act: While you were gone...
http://www.amygblog.com/2015/05/while-you-were-gone.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2015. While you were gone. Y'all didn't go anywhere.I did. And i just completely went off the grid. Just kidding again. I was still on social media, just off the blog. Blogging while traveling is hard. Besides, the last thing I wanted to do at the end of an exhausting day was be on a computer! So much has happened over the last few weeks! This will be picture heavy since we've done so much! Pictures are never a bad thing though :). We went to London (4/15-4/19). Then I blind folded her a...

Life in the Big State of Texas: March 2013
http://lifeinthebigstateoftexas.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Life in the Big State of Texas. Just a girl in the world. Friday, March 29, 2013. An afternoon in the park. And picked up sandwiches to eat at the park before you go in. The grounds and house used to belong to a woman named Ima Hogg. She was gracious enough to leave the property to the Museum of Fine Arts when she passed away. I love my job and the perks it comes with. A 2.5 hour lunch in the park is a fantastic way to spend hump day. Self-portrait- geez I look tired in this picture. Links to this post.

I know there are many opinions on this, so I love to hear different moms' thoughts and perspectives. And here is the simple answer to how we decided I would stay home:. I always wanted to. Now, here is the really long answer:. I taught high school full time for 2 years ( age 22-23. Now with 3 littles at home, I am reti...

Monday, November 3, 2014. I realized if you don't follow me on instagram or if you missed the post about me going private, then you might have wondered where I went for the past month. I have started a new blog in order to accommodate the privacy settings I wanted. You do have to sign up to read, but it just takes a few minutes and here is how you do it:. My new space is called 'Kate Tells Stories' and is hosted on Wordpress. The best way to follow is via email so you receive notice that a new post is up.

It will be going private in the next day or two, so please pass your info along as soon as possible. Tuesday, October 7, 2014. It's Never Too Early To Think Homecoming.

Thursday, August 28, 2014. The Front Yard Zoo. Cullen made tickets for all of us and then the two of them went running through the house to find all the stuffed animals they could. Wells and I had to stay inside and wait until they were done and the zoo was 'open'. My ticket had an 'M' for Mommy, the word 'zoo' and and 'T' for ticket. First up was the snake house. Then the super friendly lions. And then we got a very special talk about Monkeys from the Zoo Keeper. Otherwise, he is doing great! There were...

Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Things About My Children, Right Now. Cullen is 4 years and 8 months old. There is no doubt in the my mind that he will be the kid the 3rd grade teacher taps to write names on the board of the kids who act out while she runs to the office to make copies. Books and learning how to read. Being a big brother. Laughing really, really hard. Enough to tinkle in his pants.happens more than I care to admit.). Bennett is 2 years and 7 months old. Going to the Shop. Doing his own thing.

Thursday, May 29, 2014. This is the last of the pre-deployment talk. It is actually kinda funny seeing these back to back because they were written over the course of several days, with plenty of normal happy moments in between, so I swear I didn't spend the past few weeks sulking and being really dramatic. But it is still really important to me to share and remember how the low moments felt so I can relish in the really happy ones. That the boys and I had to make this week, so get excited for that.

Life in the Big State of Texas: July 2013
http://lifeinthebigstateoftexas.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Life in the Big State of Texas. Just a girl in the world. Monday, July 15, 2013. And another weekend bites the dust. It's Monday again. Which means another weekend has come and gone. This one was a little less exciting than last weekend. But I needed a more low key weekend. I've kind of been in a funk lately and been having a super hard time motivating myself to do anything. It's just been busy and stressful and a lot to do lately. So this weekend was perfect for me. It was a fun weekend and I got to spe...

Soft addictions: we’ve all got ’em. By substituting a superficial high or sense of activity for a genuine feeling or accomplishment. Some of the most common soft addictions include:. Going on the internet. Collecting items (coins, stamps, toys, bears, glasses, etc.). Talking on the phone. Being in a bad mood. Being in a good mood. What we do not realize as we are engaging in these activities we call harmless is that they are taking up WAY TOO MUCH time, energy, intimacy and money! Wanting to be seen.

View my complete profile. Friday, December 24, 2010. Recently on my facebook page. I asked people to suggest a rescue that was deserving of a donation this year. I had several suggestions but one stood out to me. Anita Elias suggested I donate to Mayday Pit Bull Rescue. This was what Anita had to say:. Maybe Vick has learned a lesson, it took a lot to admit that; then again if he said no would anybody believe him? A donation of $250 will be made to Mayday Pit Bull Rescue. This is Anita's Pit Bull Zack.
