Forties and fifties of the 20th century dental erosion. Is considered rare, and its cause was not known completely. Since then, and especially in the last ten years there has been increasing number of reports in favor of increase in the incidence of dental erosion. Reports are mainly based on anecdotal evidence that it is difficult to get to the real statistics. There are published studies, mainly in children, showing that almost half of the five year old has a significant dental erosion.
