Welcome! | Dr. Amy Luckenbill
https://amyluckenbill.wordpress.com/2011/08/05/welcome
Musings on music and the first year of teaching. Today is my official first day on the job. I have been working a day or three per week for the last month or so – mostly by myself. This morning’s welcome was especially nice. I made the 45-minute drive in torrential rain (I’m not complaining; we really need it! Members of the school board and the administrative staff stood and greeted every new teacher – 120 of us! 8211; as we entered the atrium of the school where we met. Laquo; Support Network = Fail.

Balance | Dr. Amy Luckenbill
https://amyluckenbill.wordpress.com/2011/08/07/balance
Musings on music and the first year of teaching. Get this. I haven’t been back for my second day and I’m already concerned about work/life balance. Wow. The boys and I had a tire. Explode on our way home from church this afternoon and I am contemplating the difficulty of surviving on one car, should the van need to be in the garage for more than a day. Even at that – both of the boys are home with Don this week, so how is he even going to get the car to and from the shop? Date : 2011.08.07.

https://amyluckenbill.wordpress.com/2011/06/04/the-elephants-in-the-room
Musings on music and the first year of teaching. The Elephants in the Room. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. How do you eat three elephants? Same way, I imagine, but rotating between plates. I am preparing for a new job, managing a possible move, and trying to drive new initiatives at the current job all at once. My only option is to hop from dinner seat to dinner seat and keep eating. 1) Create text for the Mustang Voices Handbook. What a colossal undertaking! Laquo; Business or Pleasure?

I paint pivotal points in my life where I am losing or gaining control of my identity. These paintings are timeless: my experiences are everyones experience. I paint the human condition. While the topics are heavy, my paintings are not monumental or lofty. They are funny. They are sad. They are melancholy. They are whimsical. I make light of the seemingly serious, communicating hope and joy in moments of struggle and sorrow. SHARE THIS PAGE WITH OTHERS:.

Notes on Camp
Monday, May 31, 2010. Things I don't like. Here is a list of things I particularly don't enjoy, in case you were ever curious. 2 The ambiguity of dating someone new (not to be confused with the excitement of dating someone new). 3 This whole Lady Gaga bullshit. 4 Yellow-y light incandescent bulbs. 5 Large or weird-looking bugs. 7 People looking at me when I don't feel like being looked at. 8 When I overcook my bowl of peas in the microwave. 10 My own complete inability to put my clothing away in a drawer.

On Being Forty-ish : Dreaming New Dreams. Sunday, May 17, 2015. So something happened when I turned forty. And just for the record, it still sounds weird when I say out loud that I am forty(forty-one now). That really happened last year? And I don't just mean the stuff that starts happening to your body, either. Because you do know that happens, right? And that it really kinda sucks, too.}. You're in luck though, because that's not what I am talking about today. And what I absolutely do not want to spend...
