Or should I just let the beauty of the wool show through. I have lots of crocheted flowers and spent an age sitting them on top trying them out. The inside is lined in cotton and the whole box is stabilised by plastic canvas. 124; 4 Comments. Posted on August 22, 2012. 124; 1 Comment. Posted on August 7, 2012.

The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round and Round. July 1, 2014. I’m pretty sure I heard crickets chirp in the silence that followed, but that doesn’t seem likely as it was February and we were in a museum. June 10, 2014. Hawk’s nest atop the silo. So really, the expert came in the nick of time. They (the preservationist has an assistant) had already been through the main house and barn but they had missed the servants’ quarters. So I took them back in and then followed them around like an ove...He said...

124; Comments RSS. Posted on February 23, 2012. So, at the weekend I went to Wingham Wool Works and bought myself a peg loom, its 36 inches long and very well made, I also grabbed some recycled sari yarn. I’m sure I can find something to do with it. Used crochet cotton for the warp, in fact I used it doubled as it was only a fine one. It seemed to work ok, but as this is just a sample it doesn’t really matter. 124; 1 Comment. Pink and Grey Hand Woven Blanket. Posted on February 16, 2012. 124; 1 Comment.

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER SAND DOLLAR - DRAWING FROM THE DAY
http://www.drawingfromtheday.com/a-blog-on-art-creativity-and-mindfulness/another-day-another-sand-dollar
DRAWING FROM THE DAY. A blog on art, creativity, and mindfulness. ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER SAND DOLLAR. At this very moment, I have 3 guys hammering on my front door and yelling. Ok, not quite. Have 3 guys hammering on the wall that's just inches from my front door, and yelling instructions to each other. They are the team that's moving around the house blowing insulation into the walls, and at the moment they are working on the front porch around my door. LOUD! The water droplets scared the pants off me whe...

DRAWING FROM THE DAY. A blog on art, creativity, and mindfulness. STUDENT WORK IS A DELIGHT. Can I just say how much fun it is to watch someone take off and really begin experimenting with art? It's why I enjoy teaching Zentangle so much. People who believe they are non-artists and then learn to tangle often end up, slowly but surely, beginning to realize that they. Make art, "one stroke at a time.". Way to go, Mark! ZENTANGLE INSPIRTED ART BY MARK B (2'X3' ON CANVAS). It's definitely a calming thing for...

DRAWING FROM THE DAY. A blog on art, creativity, and mindfulness. Gold and colored pencil on black tile. Embossing on white tile, with multicolored pencil. I just loved getting a "defective airbag recall" last year, calling Toyota and being told, "We don't have the parts to fix it yet; just keep people out of your passenger seat while we wait for them." WHAT? That was at least 6 months ago. No passengers for 6 months? I don't think so. End of today's rant. Maybe. AND YOUR POINT IS. . ? Well This item mig...

PROGRESSION OF A MANDALA CONTINUED - DRAWING FROM THE DAY

DRAWING FROM THE DAY. A blog on art, creativity, and mindfulness. PROGRESSION OF A MANDALA CONTINUED. I actually dreamt about coloring the mandala last night, and when I woke up very early this morning I got right to it. When I open my colored pencil holder, I never know what colors I am going to use, but in the dream I remember I was using yellow. The tile is tan- yellow on tan? Would that even work? What would it look like? Should I even try it? By gosh, that yellow actually does show up! These are not...

SUMMER STINKAROONIE - DRAWING FROM THE DAY
http://www.drawingfromtheday.com/a-blog-on-art-creativity-and-mindfulness/summer-stinkaroonie
DRAWING FROM THE DAY. A blog on art, creativity, and mindfulness. Hmmm, well maybe there is some advantage to stinkin' summer days (hot, humid, hazy weather). I know many people really love this weather. I loathe it. Since I cannot go to my studio and work on the rug - who in their right mind, even those who love this weather, would want to be working with wool right now? I completely lose myself in this process. NO Not until I was done. I do love this process. Happy Summer, everyone! Subscribe to the ma...

CONTRAST - DRAWING FROM THE DAY
http://www.drawingfromtheday.com/a-blog-on-art-creativity-and-mindfulness/contrast
DRAWING FROM THE DAY. A blog on art, creativity, and mindfulness. Still working on this zendala. Here on the right is what I did today. I xeroxed the original tile and shaded the xerox. I made two copies of the original, so next I'll try coloring it rather than shading. The unshaded original is on the left (for the story of this, see yesterday's blog entry). I am still mulling this over. Do I like it the same, better, or less? Not sure. Feel free to register your opinion if you wish. NEXT INTRO TO ZENTAN...
