Just when it looked like warm weather had made a comeback, a fast-moving storm system raced across Florida on Wednesday, bringing an end to the five-day 70-degree stretch. Colder air started pouring in overnight, dropping temperatures a whopping 15 degrees from Wednesday's morning lows. Central Florida stays cool through the weekend, but the 70s return on Monday. The question I've heard most often this winter revolves around the same general theme "It's cold! The National Weather Service office in Melbourne keeps track of Central Florida weather statistics. According to their calculations, this was the 5th coldest winter on record for Orlando and Melbourne. It was the 7th coldest for Daytona Beach. 1 549° 1957-58. 2 560° 1976-77. 3 572° 1980-81.
