AIM Overseas: Navigating the streets of Lima - Biodiversity in Peru
http://aimoverseas.blogspot.com/2013/01/navigating-streets-of-lima.html
Navigating the streets of Lima - Biodiversity in Peru. Having never travelled out of my birth state of Western Australia I was far from knowing what to expect when arriving in Peru. People thought I was crazy (as did I), my first trip out of my home state and I go to a non-english speaking country, land in a city which is far larger than I have ever experienced, and alone! What was I thinking? So far it has been such an awesome experience! Just your average road in Lima. Posted by info@AIM overseas.

AIM Overseas: Buenos Aires Arrival - Spanish in Argentina
http://aimoverseas.blogspot.com/2013/01/buenos-aires-arrival.html
Buenos Aires Arrival - Spanish in Argentina. It is new years day and I have slept very little after spending the night out at the beach with some friends and I have to get on a plane and fly to Buenos Aires at 8:45pm. My stomach is churning a little at the thought of it, I have only ever travelled overseas once before and it was not alone. But I am very excited. The view that I woke up to on my first day here. The cobble stone streets in San Telmo. Street art in San Telmo. Meeting my host family - after ...

Oxford Creative Writing Program - Week 1. After 2 long days of travel and a couple of wrong turns later I finally stumbled, heavily jet lagged through the grand entranceway of Exeter college. I was relieved to meet some of the other students joining the course - 'phew' I'd come to the right place! At 5 o'clock that first evening we attended our orientation, meeting followed by a drinks reception in the fellows garden. Here we got a chance to mingle and get to know our peers and teachers, and the girl...

AIM Overseas: Baclava and the Hagia Sophia - Political Change in the Middle East Week 1
http://aimoverseas.blogspot.com/2013/01/baclava-and-hagia-sophia-political.html
Baclava and the Hagia Sophia - Political Change in the Middle East Week 1. Me and fellow AIM Overseas students in front of the Hagia Sophia. After departing Australia shortly after Christmas, embarking on a long flight to Europe, I found my self exhausted and in need of some appetising food that did not replicate that of airplane food… but regardless, I was ready for a journey that would be both adventurous and enthralling. A shot of the Blue Mosque from a window in the Hagia Sophia. Exploring the beauti...

Taksim Square, Istanbul. Istanbul – it is one seriously awesome city. A perfect destination for students. We’ve been in town here for a few days now, visiting Bogazici University and some other organisations, as well as getting in a bit of sneaky down-time to scope out some of the incredible sights that this place serves up. If you’re coming here on one of AIM Overseas’ academic short courses you are in for the adventure of a lifetime! So let’s talk a little bit more about it. Located on the Bosphorous (...

AIM Overseas: Classes, Site Visits and Basketball! - Business in the USA
http://aimoverseas.blogspot.com/2013/01/classes-site-visits-and-basketball.html
Classes, Site Visits and Basketball! Business in the USA. We arrived in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday 12. UNCC campus at night. Monday morning we were picked up and taken to UNCC for the first time. We had a short orientation meeting and a tour of the campus. The campus is beautiful and vastly different to any Australian university. It was very stereotypically American, on our first lunchbreak a group of sorority girls even broke out in dance in the middle of the student union. The hotel is situa...
