Spuds and Other Stuff – An Alternative Future
https://analternativefuture.wordpress.com/2016/07/14/spuds-and-other-stuff
Choosing a different path through home education. Spuds and Other Stuff. July 14, 2016. At the weekend my step-daughter was over from Ireland and we all went to a local gathering in a town nearby. There were stalls and a stage with dancing and music as well as the obligatory food stalls and fairground rides. Before we went in they had a play in the park. It was a great park with some cool, big slides but it had lots of sand. I hate sand! At the beach I can cope, but in my shoes in a park? I’ve not ...

Choosing a different path through home education. July 11, 2016. July 11, 2016. Our house now is pretty much underneath the flight path for an airport and next weekend it will be the Farnborough Air Show. Great, it’s been fine, it’s not so noisy as it’s a small airport, so no massive 747s or anything like that, just some smaller aircraft and holiday planes, and you rally do get used to the noise. But in this week running up to the air show. Spuds and Other Stuff. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Bronwen Lee o...

Choosing a different path through home education. July 26, 2016. July 26, 2016. Saturday we went to Dapdune Wharf in Guildford. I had seen the name before but had no idea it was so close to the town centre and it is so well hidden. They had a steam event on with lots of people bringing heir own small steam boats as well as some displays about steam power. Posted in Days In. Spuds and Other Stuff. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to get a good picture as it was so tucked away and I didn’t want ...That even...

Playing and learning from home. Reggio Emilia Inspired Provocations. A week in the Bear House – Day 1 – Tuesday. A lovely blogger I follow is writing a detailed account of a week in her Home Educating week. It is such a good idea, I had to copy it! With her permission, of course! Here is a link. To what she and her Sausages are up to. Reading a ‘warts and all’ account of life as an unschooling family is so interesting and useful to those just embarking on it, and so I am adding ours. And here is ours!

The kind with a stick inside the lid you can spread it on whatever you are gluing. In his case he was gluing cut out paper shapes his grandma had given him in an envelope. I turned around and saw…. I took a deep breathe…and let it out. I shrugged to myself and handed him a BIG tub of glitter. He already made a mess. Why not have fun with it? Liked by 1 person.

Playing and learning from home. Reggio Emilia Inspired Provocations. It is the end of the school term. All over the UK school children will go home for a long summer break today, some have already begun. But for us, and many other home educating families, day to day life will hardly change at all. Still, I find myself reflecting back on the ‘school’ year we have had. So many changes have taken place, mostly in my head! That is what I feel I have taken from our first year ‘officially’ home edu...It’...

Teddy is up. He asks to watch Cars2 on Netflix, so we snuggle down together under a blanket on the sofa.
