About | anamericaninedinburgh.com

http://anamericaninedinburgh.com/about

I am traditionally terrible at keeping in touch with my loved ones (and if you are reading this, you probably already know that). My hope is that these updates will help with that, or at least provide some occasional entertainment or distraction. This is the most monumental move of my life and I also hope to chronicle the events of both the move and my adjustment to a new culture and country. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Differences of opinion | anamericaninedinburgh.com

I can’t say it’s all because of the whisky, because hopefully they are not drinking whisky before they go out for a run. Another observation: differences in views RE property ownership. Here, there are no “no trespassing” laws. I can walk on anyone’s property, I just have to remember to shut the gates behind me so. The sheep don’t get out. How does letting people pass on our land take anything away from our personal liberties? This entry was posted in Uncategorized. December 24, 2012. The dog →.

Headed back to home country | anamericaninedinburgh.com

http://anamericaninedinburgh.com/2012/11/01/headed-back-to-home-country

Headed back to home country. I have now finished my first two weeks of work, which included a day trip to London (9 hours by train round trip) for my registration. The countryside was lovely on the way, with castles occasionally dotting the countryside and the rocky coast visible for part of the trip. Sadly, 4 hours of it were in the dark. There is not as much daylight these days. But it was beautiful and sunny! This entry was posted in Uncategorized. November 1, 2012. Just wait an hour.

An American in Durham

An American in Durham. The ruminations of an American rambler in the Northeast of England. Sunday, January 25, 2015. Epilogue (Part the Second). I felt a bit robbed of my right to anxiety as someone about to embark upon the next stage of life. 8220;The correct hoods were delivered yesterday at 4:00, can you believe it,” she explained exasperatedly. “It’s all the way it should be now.”. Welcome | An American In England

I created this site because I quickly. Became frustrated in researching my move. To London. I found there wasn’t one central. Website where I could find simple and basic information about moving to England. I wondered what a Walgreens was called in the UK. I wondered if there were any scholarships available for US students studying in the UK. What were the major gym chains? How easy would it be to get a UK bank account? What were the major supermarkets and where could they be found? Moving to another cou...

An American In Germany | by Jim Geren

Meaning Healthiness , Gesundheit is a core principle of German life.
