Goodgame Empire mini-review | BobTurkey's blog
https://bobturkey.wordpress.com/2011/11/14/goodgame-empire-mini-review
As I mentioned in my Kingdom Rush mini-review. A couple of weeks back I have played Goodgame Studio’s Empire game. Quite a bit over the last few weeks. This is my first browser game I have played for more than a few minutes. Normally by this time i’m closing the game down (or in this case closing the browser tab) and writing the game off as just a lot of repetitive clicking. Goodgame Empire is a bit different. Its not all random building though. You receive quests, which are the only way to get exper...

The home rebirth | BobTurkey's blog
https://bobturkey.wordpress.com/2011/10/05/the-home-rebirth
So yeah, its been a year eh? Life has been busy and blogging has been a low priority. But not any more! It’s now a slightly above low priority. Ok, some of you might remember me, but most won’t. I used to run this blog as a World of Warcraft blog mainly about priests. Its was pretty popular (4k visitors a day) and I was pushing out posts a few times a week, mainly during quiet times at work. But that was the old days. What will this blog be about? How often will I be posting? I’m thinking I’l...This entr...

Star Corsairs mini-review | BobTurkey's blog
https://bobturkey.wordpress.com/2011/11/07/star-corsairs-mini-review
Wasn’t really a priority on my list of games to give my opinion on but a recent post on the developer’s blog. Got me thinking. Perhaps I should do my small part for helping indie developers where I can. So we have a Star Corsairs mini-review :) This game was developed by a single guy over about 6 months, which is quite an impressive feat in its own right. In the works), I just didn’t feel there was enough variety to justify a grind or make it entertaining. You can follow any responses to this entry throu...

Reduce the item level between raiding tiers | BobTurkey's blog
https://bobturkey.wordpress.com/2010/10/03/reduce-the-item-level-between-raiding-tiers
Reduce the item level between raiding tiers. This is just an idea that has been floating around in my head for ages. So I thought i’d throw it out there. Gear in WoW has a level, generally called an item level or ilevel, associated with it. This varies depending on the source of the item and increases as new content is released. For example tier 9 (25 man raids) had an item level of 245. Tier 10, for 25 man raids, had an item level of 264. There are two main advantages of this idea. Secondly there would ...

Discipline 4.0.x guides | BobTurkey's blog
https://bobturkey.wordpress.com/2010/10/09/discipline-4-0-x-guides
Discipline 4.0.x guides. I’m not doing a 4.0 discipline guide, although i’ll comment on some aspects once it goes live, but here are a couple of good starters if you are wondering about how to discipline on live once 4.0.x lands. Firstly Avalonna at Tales of a Priest has her overview of 4.0.x discipline priests. Secondly Malevica at Type “H” for Heals, a blog I only just discovered has a nicely detailed 4.0.x guide. So check them out. PS kids are such chronovores! Laquo; Previous Post. Next Post ». Maybe...

Dominion 3: The Awakening mini-review | BobTurkey's blog
https://bobturkey.wordpress.com/2011/10/06/dominion-3-the-awakening-mini-review
Dominion 3: The Awakening mini-review. When I finished my WoW thing I decided I was keen on some old school, turn based, strategy action. After looking around for a while (like about 10 minutes) I stumbled on Dominion 3: The Awakening. This game is about as old school as it gets. In fact it reminds me of games from the early 1990’s, but it does have some upside for those who like this sort of thing. As the Dominion 3 wiki. Actual play starts with customising your selecting your faction and age and then p...

Battle for Wesnoth mini-review | BobTurkey's blog
https://bobturkey.wordpress.com/2011/10/28/battle-for-wesnoth-mini-review
Battle for Wesnoth mini-review. Was one of the hidden gems I discovered once I stopped spending hours waiting for raids to start or grinding daily quests. Each campaign follows the adventures of a hero or heroes who gain levels and power as you go. Your units also gain in experience as they fight and as units level up there is usually at least two options for how to develop the unit. Do you want that elven archer to be a ranged powerhouse as a marksman? There is no turn timer and turns can be saved at an...

Kingdom Rush mini-review | BobTurkey's blog
https://bobturkey.wordpress.com/2011/11/01/kingdom-rush-mini-review
Was a surprise discovery while I was wondering the wastelands of browser games. Until very recently i’d never played any of the browser games and had mostly written them off as dull time-sinks. However via a convoluted path, which started with looking for non-violent games for my son to play, I ended up playing Goodgame Studio’s Empire. More on that in another post). This got me thinking that maybe these browser games aren’t all bad. You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0. Goodgam...
