On the challenges and joys of living overseas. Monday, June 16, 2014. Photos: Beijing Botanical Garden. Our friends took us to visit the Beijing Botanical Garden last Saturday. We went early to avoid the heat, but not early enough! It was pretty hot and muggy, but thankfully the sky was clear. I enjoyed visiting here, and would go back every weekend if I could. These pictures will give you a glimpse of why I like it: the scenery, the exercise, and the people-watching, one of my favorite past-times.

I have known these ladies for over two years now, but we hadn’t seen each other since last summer. I was so happy to spend time with them again!
