Lazy Bee Farm: July 2013
http://lazybeefarmnc.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 3, 2013. I still watch for him to run to the door to meet me when I come in. I miss him stretched across my legs in the bed, nailing me down, and grumping if I move One Bit. I am lonely for the little guy who sat on the edge of the tub for 20 years, dipping his tail and drinking (bleh) bath water. I can't eat without looking down to give him one little taste of whatever I have. Look at this quilt. How can it still be here, but the hand that made it not? I know he was "just a cat", but to ...

Lazy Bee Farm: A few snaps ...
http://lazybeefarmnc.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-few-snaps.html
Thursday, July 9, 2015. A few snaps . From my evening walk. I love how Day lilies turn to the sun, don't you? Pork Chop has been in the mud; pigs do this to stay cool and to keep from sunburn. Queen Anne's Lace lines our road. Moose gets a cool dip. The bottom pasture is full of these lovelies. The Soil and Water folks planted them. Aren't they charming? They just make me smile. July 10, 2015 at 12:40 PM. Lovely blooms, and sweet animals! Thanks for dropping in on the farm today! I enjoy your comments!

Lazy Bee Farm: July 2015
http://lazybeefarmnc.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. I was in a really terrible mood all day. I mean REALLY terrible. Can't say why, exactly, but nothing pleased me. I cleaned the downstairs, did laundry, baked chocolate chip cookies, knit, and even watch a bit of an old movie. Still miserable - sometimes the world is just too much with us, I guess. So, I decided I needed to clear my thoughts by taking a walk and being mindful. As Thich Nhat Hanh said:. Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. Right now, today,.

Sunday, August 16, 2015. First Day Musings: There Was a Time. When I looked forward to starting school again. I loved getting ready - planning the authors we'd read; developing lessons that were fun and creative; searching for new video clips or ideas to incorporate into my classroom; and, seeing students grow and learn about themselves in a new way. That feeling is gone. It comes to this. Links to this post. Teaching. academic standards. Saturday, August 1, 2015. Things I've Learned This Week. 8 Make su...

Lazy Bee Farm: Chores....
http://lazybeefarmnc.blogspot.com/2015/07/chores.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. This week we are busy getting farm chores done. While it is hard to think about winter when it is 88-degrees, we know it is coming and we have to be ready. The girls inspect limbs that will become kindling for the wood stove. Dead apple trees make the most wonderful smelling firewood! Mister working on a pine. Thoreau was right; wood does warm one twice! Don't let the sky fool you; it was blistering hot! Twilight walk. I love the evening light more than sunrise. Do you heat with w...

Lazy Bee Farm: February 2014
http://lazybeefarmnc.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 10, 2014. Courtney at Sassafras and Winterberry sent me this cutie patootie. When I admired her rug hooking. I have worked to learn the art of this new needlework and. Feel that the result is well worth it. Darling honey bee inspired chair pads for the dining room. Have you seen what they have developed now? Too cute or what? I thought Duck Tape was only for patching. This is the "smooth top" variety. Can you believe there are four other styles. All for the care and comfort. Yeah Sugar P...

Lazy Bee Farm: April 2014
http://lazybeefarmnc.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 29, 2014. On the farm there are many chores that I love to do. One of them is this:. Making ba-BEE bottles. We lost a lot of hives last year because of the excessive rain and cool temps. Then, with winter's brutal advent, we lost many more - a total of 10 hives gone! Sigh We are left with three, so we are going to pet them along and hope to split them in June to double our hives. This honey is used ONLY for the gals. We don't take it at all. We only take the honey made from pollen. We disc...

Lazy Bee Farm: June 2015

Sunday, June 28, 2015. First Day Musings: What Really Matters. When the Airman was born, I was "normal" weight, but I wore my regular clothes home from the hospital. He weighed a full eight pounds and six ounces, so I had made sure to eat properly and take care of giving him the best possible start - even stopping caffeine and sugar to ensure he was healthy as possible. Then, the battle of the scales started again. Strength and well-being are really all that matters. And I have a healthy dose of both!
