Just another WordPress.com site. Thoughts on Adult Learning. My self-directed learning project (SDL) this semester will be designing a logo for the Technology Integration Center (TIC). I’ll learn to use Photoshop to produce it — or actually, three different versions of it — for eventual use in print and web publications. There could be a color differentiation to make the separateness of each more obvious, especially as they become twisted together. Then the name of the center could appear either above or below the lines. The other option is some kind of nested image. Whether this would be objects or letters, I haven’t decided. Just another WordPress.com site. Thoughts on Adult Learning. After watching the tutorials for Photoshop, I switched to Illustrator. I definitely need to use Illustrator to accomplish my goals for this project. Photoshop will allow me to manipulate images I draw, but Illustrator is the best tool for actually drawing an image. I have reached my cognitive load for the day. However, I am beginning to get more ideas for the logo itself, which is a good thing. Learning overload in 8 minutes.

The self-concept of the learner Adults are self-directed or autonomous by nature. The prior experiences of the learner Adults come to the learning process with a multitude of life experiences. The learner’s orientation to learning Adults learn best when there is a practical, real-world application for the knowledge or skill being presented.
