Thursday, December 31, 2009. What a year it has been! I lost my job (still don't have a new one), moved in with my extended family (of whom I love dearly), watched the Twins make the playoffs (then lose horribly to the Yankees), watched the Florida Gators win one national title and miss out on the next, joined a bookclub, started a blog (then kind of forgot about it), and most excitingly. ran a 10-mile race and beat my goal time! Part of the outfit problem is that I'm currently carrying around those extra holiday lbs. Okay, let's not lie, those extra lbs aren't just from the holidays. They're from my laziness and from my desire to eat half a bag of chips instead of only one serving. So, naturally, the pants and shirts and sweaters don't exactly fit like they once did. Monday, December 24, 2012. It's Christmas Eve and my parents' house is full of Christmas goodies! Oh so good but oh so bad for me. I love the holiday season. The snow is falling, the tree is trimmed, the house smells like cookies, and (for the most part) everyone is cheery! It's my favorite time of the year! But for my waist line, this is the worst time of the year. Every year my pants get a little tighter and my waist line expands just a little during the holidays. Merry Christmas to all!

Tuesday, September 29, 2009. It was so nice running only. 5 miles on Sunday. The weather was finally cool (although a bit windy). I had forgotten what it felt like to run in 55 degree weather. Every other run so far during running clinic has been done when it's been 75 degrees, making running rather unenjoyable. Who wants to run 10 miles when it's hot and humid outside? Friday, July 5, 2013. Hot Dam 5K recap. I kicked off my 4th of July weekend on a great note: I ran a 5K race! It was hotter than I like to run in (like 85 maybe), but it was fun nonetheless. My friend Alison ran with me, and we enjoyed our post-race beer together. (By far, the best reason for running is getting a beer at the end! We both did great at the race, too!
