http://aaliadamani.blogspot.com/2012/02/wakenaam-day-3.html
A Taste of a Lesser Known Part of South America. View my complete profile. Wednesday, 29 February 2012. After a week of going out, partying and more going out, the time has finally come to buckle down and start work. My first day was Monday and it was also my first regional visit with Sam (the OT I'm replacing). It had rained all night and the canals this morning were flooded. The rain is to continue until the weekend, so there is potential for major flooding in Georgetown (some parts already are)...

International Woman of Mystery: August 2012
http://bjanice1.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
International Woman of Mystery. Random thoughts to share. Special emphasis on my CUSO journey to Guyana. Wednesday, 29 August 2012. The hazardous walk to work. Or a long time I've been meaning to tell you about my walks to work. Somehow in the hot sun, I feel the danger is multiplied. When I leave out to work by the time I'm closing my door, I'm certain of the need for an umbrella. Either because it's raining, or because the sun is beating down in my back! Good morning. How far you going? I cut a square ...

A Taste of a Lesser Known Part of South America. View my complete profile. Sunday, 12 February 2012. This is my first posting ever and I'm not sure really where to begin. After preparing for the last month and a half I am finally here in Georgetown, Guyana. So maybe I'll just start with describing Guyana and my first impressions. The weather is hot and humid! Luckily there hasn't been much rain. Many people carry around umbrellas or wear hats to avoid sunburn. I am definitely going to invest in a...I def...

I attended a Guyanese wedding on Saturday. I was excited to see what this would be like. Hmmm So, no lunch either. Some peo...

International Woman of Mystery: Living in Guyana's houses
http://bjanice1.blogspot.com/2012/08/living-in-guyanas-houses.html
International Woman of Mystery. Random thoughts to share. Special emphasis on my CUSO journey to Guyana. Monday, 27 August 2012. Living in Guyana's houses. Id you know that the walls in the houses in Guyana don't go all the way to the ceiling? But, I decided not to worry about it too much, as there was NOTHING I could do about this. So, I just hoped for the best. I was fortunate. Very fortunate. The house I moved into was a regular house with full height walls! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 160; So...
