Andrew Hook - biography
http://www.andrew-hook.com/pages/bio.htm
Sharp, quirky, sceptical, and often very funny. I was born in 1967 in Norwich and apart from bouts of extended travelling have lived in this fine city for most of my life. Since then I have had over 90 separate short story sales, one novel and two novellas published, and four short story collections. These are in a variety of genres,. Is my default style and one which I think suits my thinking as well as the way in which the stories come. With my partner, Sophie Essex. Back to top of page.
Andrew Hook - Nitrospective

A collection that wilfully eludes easy categorisation, demanding to be enjoyed or dismissed on its own terms rather than by virtue of conformance to any literary agenda or template. Peter Tennant, Black Static. Nitrospective is my fourth collection of short fiction and was published by Dog Horn Publishing. In September 2011. The contents are as follows. The Strangeness In Me. Bigger Than The Beetles. Love Is The Drug. Pansy Blade Cassandra Moko. Here are some sample reviews:. Chuck Rothman, Tangent Online.
Andrew Hook - immortalists

An excellent writer and stylist, reminding me of Raymond Chandler, Malcolm Pryce and Jasper Fforde. Suitably creepy and sometimes laugh out loud funny. Emlyn Rees, author of That Summer He Died. The Immortalists is my second novel and was published by Telos Moonrise in March 2014 as both an e-book and paperback. Cover art is by Iain Robertson. The cover blurb is as follows:. Appears to have aged beyond death Mordent finds the mystery is only just beginning. The Immortalists is the first in a series of ex...

Wednesday, 22 July 2015. In Which I Am Bookended By Comedians. Whilst I haven't blogged much for July I haven't been resting on my laurels. Over the past couple of months I've attended various events promoting various books. Here's a round-up of my activities:. Friday 5th June - Double The Horror. The readings seemed to go well, and Mark and Rob joined us on stage for a Q&A afterwards. Rufus seemed pleased as punch to be with literary folk and - unsurprisingly - his reading was quite a performance. After...

And I am a little strange. You are here on this site and you ask yourself why,. What a strange place to be. Just who. Pull up a recliner: you see, I'm a designer. With a web site that rhymes (listen up with your eye). To begin introductions: a rather small gripe. That affects all folks of my particular stripe—. We have public relations built on high expectations;. The subjects of stereotype. It's a sad but true fact in this new age and day. That the "amiable dork" has become a cliché.
