The bee's knees. Let me introduce myself…. Archive October, 2014. I love Korea’s café culture. I have come to love spending time, hours, days in cafés. Writing, thinking, working. At the beginning of this school year, my very favorite café closed, and I didn’t even get to say goodbye to the owner who knew my name, knew my favorite drink, and frequently gave me free treats. I miss Café AND, but in losing it, I have found more favorites! I marvel at the things that make me homesick. People and words fr...

The bee's knees. Let me introduce myself…. Archive July, 2015. So many transitions, so many thoughts. It has been a long time since I’ve taken the time to write things down. I’ve been home now for over a month, and I’m torn between relief and a pull to be doing. Doing something. Doing anything other than what I am doing now. When people say, “You must be so happy to be home! Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. As the world turns…. The blog of dan.

The bee's knees. Let me introduce myself…. Today is Teacher Appreciation in Korea. My students are the cutest! They spent all week putting together crafts, cards and photos and were so excited to share their surprise gifts with me. Each day for recess, the girls in my class would scurry to the library to work on their project for what they called “The Kid’s PTA.” I’m going to miss these kids and this place! As I was watching the video, J said with a grimace on his face, “Please stop watching! Somewhere i...
