Growing up on the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, I developed an early passion for backpacking, skiing, adventuring, and running. I was an All-American distance runner for Stanford University’s cross country and track teams, running 4:00 for a full mile. While an undergrad at Stanford, I studied Biomechanical Engineering and Computer Science after taking a couple of tangents doing research in a neuroscience lab and on a roman archaeology dig in northern England.
